I like to teach with repetition (wax on wax off) and prefer to present the big picture first so that every obstacle may potentially never be an obstacle for you. Greg continues to be a great guitar teacher. He takes his time to help all in the group lessons to keep up and stay on track. He answers all questions promptly and shares important links to sites that can help us improve our skills.

Plus he is very friendly and considerate, and injects humor and war stories to demonstrate how to improve.

I am an orchestral clarinetist, K-12 music teacher and home school parent offering Christian clarinet lessons to students ages 10 and older. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA, a Master of Arts in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and I have studied with teachers who graduated from Julliard and Manhattan School of Music. I have also been influenced by the teaching style and signature sound of clarinetist David Weber, as well as Russian and Slavic traditions of teaching, all of which emphasize the art of clarinet playing - the combination of proper technique with fluent, beautiful musicality. I have a passion to help my students enjoy making music for the glory of God and offer lessons which are fun and inspiring!

My name is Andrea Trudeau. I am a homeschooling mother of four. We have been homeschooling for almost twenty years. It has been such a journey, learning and improving as we go. One great addition to our homeschooling is music. My children have all played instruments and sang in choirs. Driving around to all these activities was taxing at times. When we met David Knizewski and learned that he taught clarinet lessons online, I was interested, but skeptical. I liked the idea of not having to drive to one more activity, but I wondered how the quality of the lesson would be. Well, it has been working out wonderfully. It feels as though David is in the room. His warmth and charisma flow through the computer! David is a skilled teacher. He is able to explain and demonstrate even though it is all over the computer. I don’t know how he does it, but he does. Another blessing to doing this type of lessons is that we never had to stop, due to COVID-19. We were able to continue with the lessons, uninterrupted. I highly recommend it!
Libby
He is a very enthusiastic teacher who puts a lot of time and effort into the lessons. He breaks challenging things down in a way that is easy to understand and is very patient. I highly recommend him!

I first met David Knizewski when he was hired as the music teacher at our PS-12 private school, Wakefield Country Day School. What I loved most about David as a teacher was that he respected his students enough to expect the best from them and also to expose them to the fundamentals of music theory and rich timeless classics and classical pieces. There seems to be a trend today to dumb things down in an attempt to always make make learning "fun." David helped the students understand that there is a deeper joy to be found in stretching themselves to put forth their best effort in learning these more challenging pieces and appreciating the beauty that results in doing something well. No matter how cringe-worthy (in some cases) the result might have been for these budding musicians, David always beamed with pride in their doing their very best. On a personal note, David was the first person who noticed that our daughter had a special talent for vocal performance. She was in elementary school at the time, and as her non-musical mother, this was difficult for me to perceive. He worked with her to help her develop good singing habits. She has had a number of voice teachers since those days and today she is double majoring in vocal performance and speech and hearing sciences in her freshman year in college. I wonder sometimes if we would have invested in her gift that has brought joy to so many, if David had not been such an encouragement to her in those early days. He also worked with my son personally with instruction in Clarinet. I was amazed at how much he learned in a very short time.

Danny is an excellent teacher. He is patient, encouraging, and a lot of fun. He takes the time to plan lessons around the songs and styles that I'm interested in. He is knowledgeable and passionate about music, and the way he explains basic music theory has helped me understand it so much more than I thought I would. I teach beginners from scratch through cellists at the top of the field. I've trained more than 60 cellists, including children as small as three and a half years old, autistic children, beginning adolescents, cello "converts" from other instruments, blind students, adult beginners, conservatory-bound teens, and professional symphony players.
All the time I hear "I can't start, I'm too old", "I am not musically inclined", or "I am not talented"- all from people that never held an instrument in their lives. That is self-deprecating talk, and it is absolutely false. Everything a performer does was learned at some point. Absolutely everything. Any person has the potential to learn how to play incredibly well. It does not take a "gift" or "talent". It takes the initiative to try.

About Anna

I have a passion for training cellists to a high level of musicianship. I have mentored cellists from the first lesson through professional symphony auditions. I am certified with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and know the Suzuki Method intimately through growing up with the method myself

Anna is an extremely talented cellist. She plays with virtuosic technique, and she has great musical instincts. She has experience working with students from many backgrounds. She is patient, flexible, and energetic, and though I know her in a professional context, from what I've heard these traits certainly carry over into her teaching.

Wonderful teacher! She explains techniques in a way that is readily understood. I had previously struggled with certain learning curves where I'd hit a wall, and she helped me through them. She teaches with joy and passion!

"Mary Elizabeth is a wonderful teacher. She has really helped me understand how important breath control is for my singing. She has also helped me to feel more comfortable with performing and getting into the character that I am portraying. I have also learned that sometimes stillness is the most powerful thing to express emotion in certain songs. Working with her as a teacher has inspired and encouraged me so much in learning how to sing. She makes learning vocal technique fun!"

"I love Fawn! She's a great piano and voice teacher. My daughter started piano with her at 5 1/2 years old, and I was so thrilled at how Fawn was patient with my daughter's wandering interest. She works within my daughter's personality which makes it so much easier for my daughter. I feel Fawn really tries every angle to interest the kids, even using the iPad to guide kids through rhythmic games. My daughter also started improving immensely in her reading and writing at school once she had started piano lessons. It really was quite profound - and true what the studies say about music lessons improving academic performance! We just started doing vocal lessons and I love Fawn's individual approach. Speaking with Fawn, I can say I am completely taken with her enthusiasm and supportive attitude towards the kids and their musical development. I drive out of my way to take lessons at her studio, but she is worth it! On occasion we have done online, and that works fine too. Don't hesitate to go with Fawn! You'll be so happy you did!"

"As I became interested in the idea of learning how to play guitar I started out and made it clear that I had absolutely no knowledge of anything regarding anything. I had the dreadful thought that I would become quickly disinterested since I had nightmares of having to play Mary had a little lamb for a month or make next to no progress in my lessons. After my first lesson I was completely wrong. Chase's ethic and method as a teacher highly impressed me as a student since he doesn't really have a lesson plan but builds one around you as an individual. He has visual representations that he gives with each new thing that way if you're like me where forgetting is a terrible curse bestowed upon you, you can refer back to it by looking at the paper things and the comments/scribbles he would make in areas you needed to put more attention towards. After each lesson Chase had the ability to shove an immense amount of knowledge in 30 minutes rather than a whole week for what I would think would be the average teacher, not only was he teaching me how to strum a chord or barre a pattern but in between he would give me detailed explanations on why each group sounds good together or why the sounds gives us a type of emotion when played as only a few examples. All in all I was never bored in any topic we decided to address that day. That was a fun part, was that each day it was something new and he taught you not what he felt like teaching but where you were as a student, if you were progressing in some areas that allowed you to move on but still need more practice on something else he wouldn't have you stay in one spot until you perfected it, he would help you with the area that was troublesome and teach you a new topic if you felt ready. Chase never rushes which was highly appreciated since learning an instrument can cause frustration which could lead to a feeling of hopelessness and eventually discouragement. THIS LEADS TO ANOTHER NOTE!! HIS PATIENCE IS HIS GREATEST QUALITY!! I can't recall how many times I had instances where I would've slapped myself acros the face for being incompetent and unteachable or just a hopeless cretin LOL. He never gets annoyed or impatient and on the contrary encourages you to make mistakes since they eventually allow you to form new techniques. That attitude is also what made his improvisation lesson such a confidence booster since instead of creating a planned session, he gives you scales to practice so that when improv time comes around you can make your own little pattern on the spot and not have to worry whether you suck or not. The point was to play in the moment and disregard any thought of your mess ups or how bad you sound, eventually these sessions became easier since you forget about judgement. His flexibility schedule wise was also awesome, as a high schooler with a part/full time job there were occasions where I was forced to change our designated day for the week due to some ridiculous excuse my sucky coworkers had, so it's very appreciated how willing he is to work with your personal life. IN CONCLUSION SINCE I FEEL LIKE I'M TYPING A NOVEL I would highly recommend anyone to allow chase to be their private instructor his personality is great, his ethics are great, and his entire being is great."
