James and I worked together for 4 months at an elementary school tutoring 3-5 graders in math and english. James is professional, intelligent, and creative. It was a pleasure working with him. He cares very much for the youth in our community.
We've stayed in touch via email and are developing a friendship I hope lasts a life time. He is good people.

I have taken and taught courses in Microsoft Word 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and Office 365. I honed these Word skills while working as a Business Analyst with Dealer Tire, Goodyear and Ford Motor Company.

Let's work together and let me unlock your potential!

About Matthew
Dear Parents and Students,

May I be a personal tutor for you or your child? I have been successfully tutoring for over 12 years. I have great references, and I am one of the top tutors because I am so easy to work with. I teach in person, or via TakeLessons classroom, telephone, Skype, FaceTime, Google Hangouts, Join.me, Appear.in, Screenhero (remote desktop, screen sharing) interactive whiteboards, as well as email attachments (PDF, Word, Excel, etc.) I graduated with honors, Summa Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University, where I made the Dean's List. I also earned a Provost Academic Scholarship for my excellent test scores, including 34 in ACT mathematics and 780 in SAT mathematics.

In addition to teaching for Cleveland schools, I currently teach 20 private sessions each week, 1st through 12th grade, as well as college stud
ents and business professionals. I have also served on the faculty at Cuyahoga Community College.

I am patient, friendly and many students tell me that I explain concepts more effectively than their teachers. I am available weekdays or weekends, days or nights, throughout the entire year. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have regarding my experience and teaching methods. While it should go without saying, I have a clean background that has been verified by the FBI and BCII. Let me know if you would like to set up an introductory lesson to design a customized strategy. There is no obligation to continue unless a customer is 100% satisfied.

I am one of the Top Five Tutors for:
1. most diverse subject matter
2. widest student age range
3. farthest geographical regions
4. largest client base
5. most hours taught monthly

Please note: I have set up my billing in thirty minute increments. Thus, I am able to offer lessons of varying lengths. However, I would appreciate longer sessions. I thank you for your time and consideration and look forward to being at your service!

Matt has been awesome for my student. His math skills have improved greatly, and his writing has come from illegible to what can now be described as neat and readable. Matt has been very patient and deliberate with our son and has taken the time to really explain things to Jake in a way he can understand. We would recommend this tutor to any parent looking for a tutor for their grammar school student! Matt is also reliable and prompt and showed up when expected which was helpful with our very busy schedules.

Matt has been awesome working with my sixteen year-old daughter and her algebra. She was hesitant about Skype and tutoring online but it has been so great working with Matt. He is very professional and organized and took the time to review her tests and homework prior to the scheduled session. He knew exactly what she needed to work on and after just a few sessions, she is feeling confident and has a better idea what and how to study! We highly recommend online tutoring and especially working with Matt!

· GMAT · In home
I did 2 sessions with Matt while I was home in preparation for my GMAT, which is in 3 weeks. We focused on the quantitative section, which was the weak spot on my first test. Matt’s familiarity with the GMAT (both the Verbal and Math section) was evident in the first few minutes of sitting down with him. Probably even more important, given my time constraint, was Matt’s ability to quickly identify my specific problem areas (integer / geometric properties & time management on data sufficiency problems) and come up with a game plan to improve them. Matt’s teaching style helped solidify key concepts by having me walk him through my thinking on problems and correcting me only when I veered off path. This approach worked for me. After the second session, I took a practice test and my math score improved substantially. I would recommend Matt to anyone who’s serious about boosting their GMAT score.

Solid understanding of Word and its uses. Experience using Word in various writing assignments, technical writing reports, and artwork.

About Daniel
I'm a graduate of UCLA School of Engineering with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. I have a passion for explaining how the physical world works through math and physics along with 10 years of tutoring experience in those subjects, test prep, and mentorship programs. The teaching strategy I believe in emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. Besides being knowledgeable, I am motivating, caring, and patient in guiding your student to academic success!

Executive Functioning is a separate realm that tutoring can assist in. It deals with cognitive processes including organization, time management, and study skills. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attribute
d to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up with the pace and workload that advanced courses demand or haven't figured out the best way to study for themselves. I am able to assess a student's shortcomings and formulate a plan for higher achievement.

About Lily
I've been sewing since I was 13. I've sewn things over the years such as dresses, pajamas. I do a lot of tailoring things too. I just love to sew, and I love teaching people to sew too!

The way that I teach is to help the student develop their own style. I have students work on their own individual projects that they pick out while asking me questions that they might have while they are doing their project.

However, if they would like there is an option for me to develop lessons for the student on certain sewing techniques that the student could learn. Although, be aware that learning how to sew takes time and that all the techniques of sewing cannot be done all at once.

Then, there is the third option that the lesson could be a mix of the student doing what they want (choosing their own project) and learning some pre-designed
techniques.

My first goal is to give my students all of the tools they need to feel confident from the very first lesson. I would like for all of my students within the first lesson to finish either of two basic projects (pajama pants or a draw string bag).

My lessons are not like videos you may find online. Meaning projects will take longer than you think they will. I will work with you to properly construct a quality finished project without too many frustrations and in a timely manner. I recommend buying lessons in 90 minute packages, since sewing always takes longer than expected.

THE BEGINNER SEWER

In these lessons we will go over the following, which can be adapted to how you want:

- Sewing safety and how to use a machine
- Learn about the sewing tools you'll be using
- How to read, cut out, layout, and follow a basic pattern instructions
- How to pin and sew a seam, finish seams and sew hems
- Learn to sew on an elastic band (to pajamas or for a tote).
- Learn how to unpick your projects when a mistake is made.
- Learn how to do a basic stitch and the gather stitch.
- TAKE AWAY PROJECTS:
- Pajamas
- Sewing Tote
- Basic Dress
- Pillow case

THE INTERMEDIATE SEWER
- Cement what you learned in the while a beginner.
- Learn to hand sew hems etc.
- Learn about different fabrics and when to use them.
- Sew a basic zipper onto clothes or bags.
- Learn about the different foots.
- Learn to do other stitches
-TAKE AWAY PROJECTS
- Intermediate Dresses/ Clothes
- Bags

Whether it is for a hobby, to decorate your house, to prepare for design school, or to make your own clothes, I can teach you from the very basic sewing skills, to more advance topics such as modifying your patterns to make clothes that fit.

About David
Hello,

My name is Dave,

In my day job, I run a cybersecurity company and we do analysis of organizations and report on how compliant they are on various regulations and standards related to privacy and data management. I also do a lot of research in collaboration with universities and have been part of the writing of over 150 research papers on cyber security, some of them are published publicly and available.

I spend most of my time actually developing educational materials or running educational workshops on cybersecurity so education is natural for me.

I have a Bachelor of Commerce from Algonquin College / Athabasca University. I also have completed many training programs related to information technology and have worked in the IT field for thirty years. I have also studied philosophy, math and music.

I am familiar with network
s, computers, servers, gaming and general software configuration, troubleshooting and best practices.

I have a strong background with the MS-Office suite, in particular with implementing special solutions involving the VBA back end that every office app has.

I have created and run educational seminars regarding cybersecurity and have worked with students of varying skill and experience levels to reach specific educational milestones.

Currently I am working on a large project with a post secondary institution to deliver some of our research as course materials to a large number of students.

Finally, I (and you too if you got to this point) have a lot of patience and will adjust my approach based on the person and situation sot hat we can communicate effectively and move forward with the educational goals at hand.

Thanks,
Dave

I can navigate this program very well on Mac OSX, and I can do a pretty decent job on Windows, as well.

About Mihaela
I like to try to be the most helpful I can be! Let me know what you would need help with, and I'll respond, whether or not I can help you. My passion is to play violin and to help students.

I went to a Seventh-day Adventist school from Kindergarten to grade twelve. Then, I went to a Seventh-day Adventist university. After that, I volunteered as an elementary school teacher in Majuro, Marshall Islands for two years (2015-2017).

I then was a teacher's aid in Port Hardy, British Columbia in the 2017-2019 school year. From September - December 2018, I taught grades 1,3, and 4 in a small Seventh-day Adventist school in Bella Coola, British Columbia. Now, I'm an on-call teacher aid / teacher for all the schools in the Bella Coola valley. These schools include School District 49, Nuxalk Acwsalcta Academy of Learning, and the Seventh-day A

Mihaela is classically trained, but enjoys all kinds of music for fiddle/violin, and is quick at picking up new melodies, and also playing by ear. This skill makes her really good at being about to help with whatever songs a student would like to learn. Because of her computer skills, she is also able to introduce the various apps that are available for enhancing practice on the instrument. She has a really good ear, and because she sings harmony well, she can also play spontaneous harmony for fiddle tunes. Mihaela is a kind, patient and fun loving person, which I think would make her great with children. I am many years her senior, and have enjoyed a few lessons with her.
