Spanish Lessons in Saint Louis
By Daniel B. - Spanish Teacher in Saint Louis
Greetings! My name is Daniel and I teach the beautiful language of Spanish in Saint Louis, Missouri. I attend both Washington University in Saint Louis and University of Missouri S. Louis. I am studying neuroscience, psychology, and biology with the hopes of becoming a therapist, researcher, and instructor.
Why Learn Spanish
From my experience teaching Spanish lessons in Saint Louis, I know that students chose to study the language for a variety of reasons. Some high school or college students thought it was the easiest or most practical language to learn. One of my students decided to learn Spanish because her husband was Hispanic and she wanted to be able to communicate with her extended family. If you are that high school or college students, family member, or just someone who wants to learn Spanish for the fun of it – worry not! Taking Spanish lessons in Saint Louis will be a fun and rewarding adventure.
Learning Spanish the Correct Way
The process of learning Spanish does not have to be dry and boring. Memorizing vocabulary lists and finishing endless verb conjugation worksheets in the classroom can be far from the experience that attracts individuals – young and old – to the Hispanic culture. A qualified instructor will work with you to make sure you’re feeling challenged and having fun! Conversation, music, radio, television, instruction manuals, and literature are all mediums of culture which Spanish teachers can help their students immerse themselves in the language. Learning Spanish is a journey: some might take longer than others, but it’s the actual process and destination where we find importance.
Learning Spanish in Saint Louis
While it would be amazing to move to a Spanish speaking destination for a year and learn the language by immersion, don’t worry! Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, and the rest of these amazing places can come to you! Saint Louis has countless resources for those of us who want to experience the Hispanic culture. I realize that forsaking your own comfortable or familiar culture can be a daunting task. If you are in Saint Louis and would like accountability during this journey, sign up for Spanish lessons through Take Lessons. My task is not to teach you Spanish, but it is to expose you to the Hispanic culture in a way that allows you to become a participant rather than merely an observer.
