My first lesson was great. Mr. Paul was very patient and judged my skill level before making a lesson plan. Initially I was nervous, because I have never taken lessons before, but that quickly went away. I can definitely tell that he knows his stuff when it comes to teaching. He a great teacher and conversationalist.

Paul was very pleasant. He thoroughly explained things to my daughter in a manner that she could understand. He listened to her play and they also played together.

This was her first flute lesson with Paul, but she's already looking forward to the next lesson.

Hey there – I am so glad that you want to study piano! A little bit about me: I am a graduate of the world-renowned jazz program at the Jacobs School of Music and have been teaching for 8 years. I have experience with many styles and genres and have been fortunate to play with artists from over 20 countries. My work has been featured in NPR’s Jazz Critic’s Poll, Jazziz Magazine, and All About Jazz, and I was recently chosen to be a cultural ambassador for the U.S. State Department’s global music fellowship (OneBeat). A little bit about my piano methods: For beginner piano students, I start with exploring the "anatomy" of the keyboard so we can delve right away into learning simple arrangements of your favorite songs. Pick any song you like, and I'll work with you to learn it by ear! Over time, I will teach you more technical exercises, scales, and ways to start reading music. I can also be an ally for intermediate students who wish to delve into learning harder pieces by ear or by ...

Natalie Williams is an extraordinary teacher! Even though she’s been teaching on the professional level since 2006, the love of music & teaching has been within her heart since age 13. She was my first flute teacher when I was 7. Because of her knowledge, patience and compassion to teach, I was able to excel faster than my peers. Also, because I followed her instructions & practiced daily.
Natalie also organized recitals two times per year to enable her students to build their confidence to play in front of an audience. They did an exceptional job!!
Don’t hesitate to sign your child(ren) or yourself up for a wonderful musical experience!!
Natlie B.
Natalie has been an exceptional, patient and kind instructor. For years she has been able to steer my son in the right direction when it comes to knowing theoretical musical foundation and has even helped him solidify the necessary information that is needed to be a musician and learn it independently. Not only has she prepared him in this way but even rooted a deep love for music in his spirit.

She's the perfect instructor for any young or older student and definitely my top recommendation.
Naomi
Mrs. Williams have done a fantastic job with her students throughout the years. Not only have she helped numerous children and adults she has also held annual recitals to keep up with their progress. I recommend Mrs. Williams as a music teacher for yourself or your children, her lessons are easily taught, any questions the student has she always has an answer for them. She is very patient with her teachings, never has she rushed through any of her lessons as she makes sure her students understand before continuing to the next lesson. Make Mrs. Williams your music teacher and you will not regret it.

"Alex is a masterful pianist, composer, arranger, and teacher. He breaks down difficult concepts into easy to digest lessons, reinforcing positive progress along the way. He offers a wide range of lessons, adjusting the pace and content depending on the student -- I've seen him adapt to any teaching circumstance, and was thrilled with my progress under his instruction. Could not recommend more!"

"Zach is teaching our seven-year-old son, Ben, the piano. He's been working with Ben for seven months, now. Zach is kind and incredibly patient. He is encouraging by default. Ben looks forward to his lessons. Zach seems to match Ben's pace, pushing him forward when it's appropriate and reviewing material when it's clear that Ben is not ready. Zach began with familiar tunes, without sheet music, and Ben was proud of his early accomplishments at each step. Now that they're into reading music (using a Disney fake book), Ben feels comfortable and engaged. Zach is a graduate student, and he's on a student schedule (at least for now), which means scheduling lessons around the academic year--an approach that works well for us. It also means that we had the chance to see one of Zach's recitals at ASU, and that was inspirational for our own young pianist (and his dad). Ben and I recommend him highly."

The ability to sight read well is a skill that every pianist should have. Below, piano teacher Ryan C. shares 9 piano sight reading exercises to help you master this important skill... It’s the first day of rehearsals at your school’s choir. Everyone has been assigned new music that they haven’t seen or sung before. You can sing, but you definitely consider yourself more of a pianist. Your teacher walks in and solemnly says: “Hi everyone, our pianist is sick today, so we're …
