I am not a performing pianist, but I have been studying piano for years and use it regularly in my own practice and compositional process. I use simple piano lessons to teach familiarity with the instrument, technique, and creativity. I also commonly help students learn songs they enjoy from their favorite artists/bands.

About Hunter

***As of May 15th, 2020 all lessons will be conducted through Zoom*** My primary teaching philosophy revolves around the ideas of creativity and cooperative problem solving. I believe that all musicians should be actively training their ears as well as their abilities on their instrument. I focus

Hunter is a phenomenal teacher. My son (7) and myself have been taking weekly lessons with Hunter for 8 months now. He is wonderful with kids focusing on my son's readiness and getting him to enjoy and make progress. With me, Hunter has been great at adapting to what I wanted to get out of the lessons and I have made really great progress I did not think was possible. Thank you Hunter!!!

First time playing piano? Resuming after years (decades?) of not playing the piano? No matter your age or experience, you can always learn and improve!

Pop songs, jazz ballads, classical pieces, or movie/game themes, there must be something you are interested in playing and get better!

About Bill

I have always been a self-studier in my entire life. Being able to learn with just books and your brain is a crucial skill to have! However, I know not everyone (and sometimes even myself) have the discipline and motivation to keep going during hard times. This is where a tutor would come in handy.

Students will learn basic piano skills such as hand placement, note reading, note values, pedal use, major and minor scales, expressions, etudes, pieces, memory work, music history, performance techniques, and most of all to have fun learning the piano. I will expect students to have a minimum 67 note keyboard with sustain pedal, or a good piano to use for personal practice time. Each student should spend at least 20-30 minutes daily to start. They must purchase the recommended books.

Paul has been very patient and wonderful with my 6 year old son who has just started lessons.

My first lesson was great. Mr. Paul was very patient and judged my skill level before making a lesson plan. Initially I was nervous, because I have never taken lessons before, but that quickly went away. I can definitely tell that he knows his stuff when it comes to teaching. He a great teacher and conversationalist.

Paul was very pleasant. He thoroughly explained things to my daughter in a manner that she could understand. He listened to her play and they also played together.

This was her first flute lesson with Paul, but she's already looking forward to the next lesson.

When I started with Linda I hadn't had a piano lesson in almost forty years. In a short time she had me playing with more confidence and at a far higher level than I had ever achieved before. Linda is a phenomenal performer and a gifted teacher. Anyone at any level would be lucky to work with her.

I consider myself very fortunate to have found Linda when I took up piano after a 50 year hiatus. She brought enthusiasm, patience and profound musical knowledge to each lesson. I would be with her still if Julliard hadn’t called her to Manhattan. Six stars!

"I Would Recommend Kelvin to Anyone

I am 67 and never had music lessons before. I’ve been studying the piano with Kelvin for about 7 months now. I think Kelvin is a good teacher because:

- He never says “that’s good enough.” He has high standards and if there is anything lacking in my performance, he makes sure I know what it is.

- He is very encouraging, and when he tells me I’ve finally got a piece right, I know that means something.

- He is always pushing me to do a little better. (Not too pushy though.)

- He is very good about correcting my technique and explaining why things are done a certain way.

I intend to continue lessons with Kelvin for the foreseeable future; and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a music teacher."

I was worried he would lose interest, but so far that is not the case. Michelle makes it fun and provides small rewards and lots of encouragement. I wanted to expose my son to the experience and enjoyment that comes with learning to play music, and Michelle has made that possible."
