Paul has been very patient and wonderful with my 6 year old son who has just started lessons.

My first lesson was great. Mr. Paul was very patient and judged my skill level before making a lesson plan. Initially I was nervous, because I have never taken lessons before, but that quickly went away. I can definitely tell that he knows his stuff when it comes to teaching. He a great teacher and conversationalist.

Paul was very pleasant. He thoroughly explained things to my daughter in a manner that she could understand. He listened to her play and they also played together.

This was her first flute lesson with Paul, but she's already looking forward to the next lesson.

My teaching approach is as follows:
If the student is new, I will need to know if he or she has any musical knowledge.
If the particular student is a total beginner, I will definitely start from scratch and I will provide my own teaching materials for the learning process. Parents are welcomed to sit in the lessons and observe my teaching.

If the student is in intermediate level, I will first listen to the student's playing briefly to get the idea of the level of piano playing, and the student's previous learning experiences with their previous teachers. After that, I will have discussions with the parents regarding my further approach of teaching.

About Elaine Sin Yee

Sin Yee is making headlines as a sensational young pianist in her home, Malaysia. She is the top prize winner at the 5th Thailand International Piano Competition 2018, Singapore National Piano and Violin Competition (Artist Category) in 2013, and the 1st Thailand International Mozart Piano Competit

"Annette was our boys' piano teacher for the 4 1/2 years we lived in Germany. She worked so well with both boys, adjusting to their very different styles. Her patient, kind, encouraging style in a relaxed, non-intimidating environment gave the boys confidence and a love for piano. I was always especially impressed with Annette's follow through with a detail or question or technique that came up during a lesson that needed elaboration. She would often go the extra step and seek out a further example or answer a question in further detail after a lesson and email that information to me to share with the boys. I can't express how grateful I am for the gift of music that she has instilled in both boys. She was a wonderful teacher."

"I took private piano lessons with Alex for three years. Hands down, Alex was the best teacher I've had. Alex has a knack for teaching. She provided very targeted and detailed feedback on my techniques and taught me how to improve in a very precise way so that I was able to focus on my weaknesses. Alex was the kindest teacher one could possibly imagine. She always delivered her comments in a very accessible manner and made me feel very comfortable and believed that I could improve. I came a long way in the three years under her and I miss her lessons so much! I would recommend Alex to anyone who is interested in learning how to play the piano."

6 New Ideas for Piano Warm-Ups

We all know the importance of warming up - but do you actually commit to a proper warm-up every time you sit down to play the piano?  If you're in a rush, it's easy to forget it.  However, an effective warm-up is essential for avoiding injuries, such as tendonitis, and can also help increase the dexterity of your fingers and hands, allowing you to reach certain tough chords. Before you get into the "meat and potatoes" of your practice session, you'll want to spend a good 10-15 minutes focus …
