My studio is based around fundamentals and the student's goals. Each lesson is tailored to the individual students needs and adjusted as they progress. Whether you are picking up the instrument for the first time, are a student auditioning for all county, or just want to improve your playing, I can help you achieve your ideal musical self!
For beginner students lessons will focus on tone production, breath support, basic music theory and reading skills, rhythm, and technical development to form a strong base for continued development. Intermediate students will continue developing basic technical skills and music theory knowledge. They will begin applying their knowledge to standard repertoire. By focusing on musical context, students will begin to learn the more advanced concepts surrounding interpretation. About Samantha

Hi! I have been making music in some form all of my life. I began playing band/orchestra instruments in sixth grade on clarinet. I quickly added flute to my skillset after that. Flute became my primary instrument about twelve years ago but I do still play both instruments and a few others. I have b

Music college graduate, with plenty of experience in real-world musical settings and five years of teaching experience. When it comes to teaching I have plenty of patience and no judgment! I like to think of learning piano like hiking an unpaved trail to a destination. At times the trail can become difficult and you might be tempted to give up on the destination. But as you gain momentum and your destination gets closer and closer, one realizes their past troubles were worth their current gains.
My goal is to help you define realistic goals and then, how to obtain them. If you are unsure of what your goals are, that's okay too. We can cover the basics and in time, find out what your musical interests are. However, I expect my students to work towards improving their skills by practicing a little each day, or as I like to say students need to be hitting the woodshed.
My lessons are tailored toward each student's goals but I always include certain topics. The core of my ...

Just judging off our first lesson, it was great! I was really nervous because I haven’t tried to learn to play an instrument in over a decade, but I really enjoyed the lesson with Andrew and I’m looking forward to continuing.

I've been taking lessons from Andrew for almost 2 years now. He's a great teacher; he's patient, encouraging and accommodating. He builds a strong foundation for playing and understanding music by focusing on the fundamentals first and foremost. I highly recommend him as a teacher!

I came to Andrew as an intermediate-to-advanced level pianist looking to learn jazz piano. Andrew does a great job pacing his lessons to push new ideas and techniques without being overwhelming. He will also relate the techniques he teaches to how he plays in real life, which is extremely helpful. Andrew is very easy to get along with and is also very responsive between lessons. I'd recommend him for any skill level

I am an adult student who has been taking violin lessons with Elana for about a year now. Elana is a highly skilled and talented instructor. Her unlimited patience and constant encouragement is what keeps me going. I always come out of the lessons feeling confident and excited to learn more. While Violin is known to be a difficult instrument to learn, Elana's way of teaching makes you feel like "you've got this!" I'm so happy I've found such an amazing teacher as Elana and I would highly recommend her to anyone who's interested in learning the Violin. With Elana, you can be confident you'll be playing beautifully in no time!

I hired Elana to give violin lessons to my daughter and help her prepare for audition. She already had private teacher but after two years I was not happy with the progress she made and decided to hire someone else. After first lesson with Elana I was sure I made the right decision. After second lesson my daughter told me she learned more with Elana in two lessons than with previous teacher in two years!Elana is very passionate when it comes to teaching violin, she is honest about her expectations and student's progress, yet very patient and mild in interaction.I could not recommend her more!

Alix is truly a phenomenal teacher! She is compassionate, nurturing, and seeks to improve her student's vocal abilities. All of our lessons have been thorough, educational, and certainly insightful. I have become such a better singer in only a few short lessons, and look forward to becoming a master in the next few!

Alex is an exceptional teacher. My 13 year-old wished for voice lessons for such a long time, and I'm so pleased Alix is working with her. She is helping my daughter improve her technique (breathing, posture, range, etc.), while keeping lessons positive and encouraging, and finding music that my daughter enjoys. When Alix demonstrates what she is describing- WOW, what a voice! My daughter looks forward to every lesson, and if it's possible, loves to sing even more since she has been learning with Alix.

"I took lessons from Ray for about 4 months because I wanted to take my drumming skills to the next level. Ray's teaching method is unique and effective. It's simple as that!. After 2 lessons my band mates started noticing better chops, more control on the drum set (as far as dynamics) and tasteful fills. My hand/foot coordination has improved radically thanks to those exercises customized and developed by Ray that target the weak areas. At my first lesson, Ray and I discussed my short but demanding list of concepts that I wanted to work. He was able to understand all my concerns in a heartbeat and put together a teaching plan that covered more than what I was expecting. Needless to say that Ray is a humble person and a great drummer ( I stole a of of licks from him!). The studio is very neat and organized. It has technology and equipment that as a student you can use for free. Another advantage is that Ray's studio has two drum sets so the theory and the actual practice happen in real time. Also, the studio location is very convenience. If you are a drummer looking for effective drum lessons, any style, any level don't hesitate to contact Ray. You won't regret it!. He is an A+ drum instructor."

He started to teach my seven year old son over one year ago and he has motivated him to sing his best and he started piano with him last year which has been a phenomenal experience for my son. Chaz really focuses on the detail, theory and groundwork necessary to excel in music. If you are lucky enough to get your child started with him you will never regret the experience. What is Timbre in Music and the Voice? Why is it Important?

What is timbre? Timbre in music is also identified as “color.” It is the quality and tone of a sound which makes it unique. Timbre is also defined as auditory senses produced by a sound wave.
