Matt is great! He is very patient and explains things step-by-step in a very comprehensive and easy to understand manner. And best of all, he never makes you feel like any questions you ask, is irrelevant or repetitious. I highly recommend Matt, and plan on continuing to take lessons from him in the future!!

I really enjoyed lessons with Matt! I showed him a song that I created in Ableton, and he was able to bring the song to the next level. He helped me tighten up my drum grooves, and showed me how to change my drum sounds to get a much higher quality sound from my drum tracks...... I play a little guitar, and he was able to teach me some cool chords that fit into my song wonderfully. He also showed me how to record my guitar into Ableton and get the right kind of sound for my song. It was a really great experience and I would absolutely recommend Matt to anyone looking for Ableton , music production, or guitar instruction!

Absolute joy to be taught by Matt, knowledgeable, encouraging and enthusiastic. (Timely as well if that's important to you!), i learnt an awful lot from Matt and felt fortunate to have chosen him as my teacher.

Mike taught Leo in person before the pandemic started and has been doing online lessons with him for the past eight months. He is amazing with both. Leo has a very short attention span, but a deep love for music. Mike has been able to hold Leo’s attention every week for over a year — even during online lessons. Leo has become an awesome little pianist, and has developed a love for the piano. It has given him the ability to express all of his feelings and has helped his attention span for his schoolwork. Mike has so much patience, and always inquires about Leo’s favorite activities. He is great with kids and makes them feel so comfortable. Leo loves his “booming voice” and the free play blues music they get to play together every lesson.

With each one of my students, I take into account how much time they are willing to practice, what genres interest them, and what learning style works best (for example, I've found that music theory makes things click faster for some people and saps all the enjoyment out of learning an instrument for others). I then come up with a structured lesson plan that is specifically catered to their needs.

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me. Look forward to hearing from you soon!

I've been taking lessons with Jonah for 6 years now (4th-10th grade) and the experience has been amazing! With Jonah's help, I have learned so much about the guitar, both in technical aspects and in simply "jamming." Jonah is always very patient, kind, encouraging, and his passion for music very clearly shows in his teaching. Every lesson I take is very enjoyable, and I always come out of the lessons feeling like I have made good progress on whatever it was we were working on that week. Whether you wish to learn about complex music theory and lead guitar (like I am currently doing), or just want to learn how to play a few songs, Jonah is a perfect choice as a teacher. Additionally, Jonah is very communicative and flexible with timing. Whenever I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson for whatever reason, Jonah responds to my messages quickly and is almost always able to find another day that week for our lesson to take place on. 5 stars, fantastic teacher, I highly recommend Jonah!

I started taking guitar lessons online with Andrew 6 months ago as a complete beginner. I was skeptical at first of how much I would learn online and if it would be worth it. However, I can honestly say Andrew is an excellent teacher who I not only recommend for his outstanding musical knowledge and talent, but also his great teaching skills that allow him to adapt to any of his student's special requests for a class.

The Benefits of Taking Guitar Lessons in Santa Clarita

By Chris S. - Santa Clarita Guitar Teacher

Many people don’t realize the numerous benefits that guitar lessons in Santa Clarita can provide for children. Oftentimes, guitar lessons will supply an abundant amount of knowledge beyond just learning to play music. If you have the resources and ability to enroll your child in lessons at a young age, these skills can be expanded and improved upon for years to come. For many parents it’s surprising to learn all of the diverse advantages that guitar classes can offer. Here are just a few:

  1. Learn and Develop Fundamental Musical Skills and Theory This is, of course, one of the most obvious benefits. Guitar lessons for kids will lay the foundation of basic musical skills and theory not only for the guitar, but for many other

...

instruments. Once your child masters the fundamentals of sheet music, he or she will be able to read and write music on their own. These lessons will also ensure that your child knows the correct way to hold and strum a guitar, as well as how to transition between chords. As the classes progress to higher levels, your child will be able to build on these skills and play full songs.

  • Build Confidence One of the most rewarding results of guitar lessons for kids is the feeling of confidence that comes with learning something new or mastering a technique. When your child goes to class and learns a new chord or how to read a line of music, he or she will be very proud to understand this new piece of information. Your youngster will most likely express excitement and confidence by quickly demonstrating to you what was learned. Allowing a child to enjoy this new boost of confidence may even help in other aspects of life such as schoolwork and social situations.

  • Enhance Learning Capabilities The process of learning to play the guitar involves memorization of scales, chords, songs and more. With the requirement of memorizing such a large amount of information, your child’s brain will constantly be tested, which will help improve learning capabilities. Your child can use these stronger learning skills to excel in the classroom as well.

  • A Fun Environment As children progress through classes, they will develop a bond with the instructor and hopefully make great improvements. Building relationships associated with such a success will create a fun and enjoyable environment for your child. He or she will begin to look forward to the next lesson. These new skills can even be shared with friends, promoting fun outside of the classroom.

  • If your child has been asking to take guitar lessons in Santa Clarita, it is time to seriously consider enrollment. Remember that your child will gain so many more benefits than just learning an instrument. Guitar lessons for kids build and strengthen creativity, confidence and learning capabilities. These lessons will stay with them for years to come, making the investment well worthwhile.
