Get Inspired to Learn Piano in Mission Bay Park

Mission Bay Park is a giant playground for outdoor enthusiasts, but what if you want to learn piano? Luckily, there are plenty of local opportunities to get playful with music, too. With Pacific Beach to the north and San Diego to the south, this aquatic community is actually a great place to learn and enjoy the piano. If you take piano lessons in Mission Bay Park, take advantage of the following resources to inspire your passion and hone your skills.

Tangier Bar at the Bahia Resort Hotel

At this indoor/outdoor location, you can immerse yourself in Mediterranean ambiance while listening to live piano. If you're taking piano lessons in Mission Bay Park, go inside to enjoy nightly music at the resort's live piano bar. This musical fixture attracts locals and guests alike.

Fiesta Island

Claude Debussy had European waters in mind when he composed "La Mer", his instrumental ode to the ocean's overwhelming power and beauty. However, when you soak up the sunshine over the middle of Mission Bay, it's easy to see how the sea inspired this famous composition. Fiesta Island is a sandy paradise with bonfire rings, recreational water sports, and stunning blue water. Take a pair of headphones to Fiesta Island, play "La Mer" as you settle in the sand, and feel the music swell with the sea.

Of course, there's no shortage of symphony-worthy ocean views in the surrounding area, either. Sunset Cliffs is just seven miles south of Mission Bay, and it's famous for its picturesque dusk views. As the ocean's reflection doubles the colors of the California sunset, you'll be itching to drive home and play the same music yourself.

710 Beach Club

Mission Bay Park doesn't have any homegrown dueling piano bars, but this Pacific Beach treasure is the next best thing. Located on Garnet Avenue just north of Crystal Pier, 710 Beach Club is a restaurant and live music venue that brings out the best in local music lovers. Karaoke nights are a riot and cover bands are more fun than the originals, but you'll want to check the schedule for their dueling piano performances. If you're old enough to imbibe, you'll enjoy the affordable cocktails and drink specials, too.

Cass Street Music

Pacific Beach is also home to the area's best small music shop. Browse a wide variety of sheet music at your leisure, pick up spare parts for your piano, and mingle with fellow music students at Cass Street Music. This locally-owned shop is just north of Mission Bay, so it only takes a few minutes to get there by car. After you pick up your piano goodies, head west to the water. Pacific Beach Park is only a few blocks away, and the ocean breeze often carries live music from street performers who frequent the nearby pier.

It's hard to beat the small-town feel and vacation-worthy views of Mission Bay Park. As you learn to play the piano with one of our talented local instructors, let the bay inspire your fingers, too.
