About Cory
So you want to play an instrument? Well I have taught for over 40 years and have developed special programs for you on piano, guitar, bass, voice and other instruments for you to learn. From easy beginner to the most advanced, I will help you to learn the songs you love! Whether we use the most modern technology in my professional recording studio or just some chords or perhaps learning to sight read something for a talent show, I can take you all the way to the highest performance level. Your goals are my goals.
I have studied with some of the most famous teachers in the world, including Charlie Parker's pianist Walter Bishop Jr. and Dizzy Gillespie's musical director Mike Longo, among many others.
I also have the experience of over 400 gigs a year to bring to your lesson. I have performed on piano, guitar and bass and voca

I want you to have fun learning and can help you with understanding and memorizing your songs.
I focus on sight-reading, ear training (like jamming and playing blues) and theory. You get to choose the areas you would like to learn.
Once we have established the basics including melody and chords, we will pick songs you want to learn to play with your friends or just by yourself. We can use music books or go on YouTube to learn your songs.
I have helped students with auditions as well as performances. After only a few lessons you will hear and see things differently than ever before.

*** Studio Equipment ***
My studio comes complete with acoustic and electric keyboards, acoustic and electric guitars, electric bass and amps to play through, as well as professional microphones for recording. Students can start with me as a beginner or as an advanced student looking to learn new practice skills, new technique, skills, and bow strokes. Students work on scales, exercises for tone and coordination, vibrato, solos, sight reading, rhythm, audition music, and orchestral music. They get 2-6 opportunities to perform per year. I can teach a variety of music styles such as jazz, classical, romantic period music, 20th Century music, contemporary music, bluegrass, Celtic, Irish Fiddle, Scottish Fiddle, movie music, and popular music. I recommend many youth orchestras in the area that I encourage my students to join. Some of my students go to Italy in the summer with their orchestra. I can help you work on audition music for All Southern Youth Orchestra and All State Youth Orchestras and other Youth Orchestras. I go at the student's pace and also start out many beginners that have reached Suzuki Book 10 level.

Lily has been teaching violin to my 10 years old son for the past 10 months. We find her to be kind, patient, positive, and understanding. She is not overly strict nor critical, which fits well with my son's personality. She is mind-mannered so we do not feel pressure or discouraged when you are just learning and making mistakes. We are pleased with the progress my son has made in the past 10 months.

Ms. Lee is the best instructor ever!!!! When I started taking lessons with her, I was blown away by how much progress we made in one short lesson! She helped me grow so much! She is everything you would see in a perfect teacher: Kind, compassionate, knowledgable, and has the most amazing personality! She knows exactly what to do for every piece of music that I learn, and teaches me new techniques in every lesson that I carry on to every ensemble I participate in! Going off to my university next year, I am sad that I cannot have lessons with her when I leave. But I know that she was the one who got me there, who prepared me for college level of music at a university ranked number one in the nation for orchestral music. She helped make me who I am today, and I will forever be grateful to have her as a tutor and a friend! and to whom it may concern, I promise you that if you pick her as your tutor you are making the best decision of your life!

Ms. Diana is very sweet and patient teacher. My son and daughter are learning Piano and Violin with Ms. Diana. She knows how to make kids be interested in music. She has a talent to make my kids enjoy her lesson. We have taking her lessons for 3 years and I feel we are very lucky to start our kids' music lessons with her. Because I have seen so many students have hard time to reset their thinking of music and posture once they got used to learn music from bad teachers.
I guarantee you will NEVER regret to invite her as your kid's first music teacher.
She is passionate, patient, and sweet piano & violin teacher.

My daughter , Celine has been learning violin from Ms. Diana Kim for 3 years.
At first, Celine had to change all her bad posture from her previous teacher. After 6 months , Celine was able to correct her bad posture and she won a lot of competitions and passed certificate auditions and orchestra auditions.
Ms. Kim always says bad posture is very related to mad sound and it makes a limit to be improved as a violin player.
What I was impressed was Ms. Kim came most of my daughter's competitions and auditions, recitals. Ms. Kim encouraged my daughter when my daughter was so nervous to play on the stages. I can feel Ms. Kim really loves her students and cares a lot once people become her students.
Bi- Monthly student recital in her studio, helps a lot for kids who wants to have a stage experience and it is very important for their confidence.
I heard Ms. Kim started to teach in Youth orchestra and music colleges. I cheer for her students and her teaching classes.
I strongly recommend Ms. Kim for your kids. A great teacher makes huge difference of performance and most of all their student's personality and future.
