Cello Lessons in Chico. Amazing Teachers.

My style of teaching is to teach each child one step at a time, through method training. Each child/Adult has their own learning curve and I adjust accordingly. Each lesson is fun and yet a learning time. I love teaching and it feeds every day. I always can see more students.

Having 10 years of experienced cello teaching, I feel very comfortable helping my students understand the foundations of cello technique. I graduated with a Bachelors of Music from the music conservatory Cleveland Institute of Music, and got my Masters in Music from Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music.

In addition, I completed a 2 year rigorous Suzuki Technique Pedagogy Program where I am now certified to teach all 10 levels of the cello books. I am confident in explaining any questions a student may have. I love to make practicing a game, so that way we are developing the proper skills but also challenging ourselves while having fun! Even I can understand that practicing can get tiresome and dull at times!

I am currently a Doctoral candidate at The Juilliard School. I have been teaching students range from 7 years-old to people who are in their 70s. Helping students from different back ground, age group, and levels of playing has been very rewarding. I help my students preparing for their recitals, competitions, all state exams, or simply learning a new piece of music. I believe in tailoring teaching to each student's needs. Looking forward to working on and exploring cello playing with you!

Classical cellist for over 10 years, experienced in teaching for 2 years from beginner to advanced levels. Specialized in solo cello works, chamber music, orchestra, opera, etc. I will have my own lesson curriculum and repertoires adjusted to my students depending on their levels, and interest in music. I like to give at least two repertoires for each student: one for technique and one music work. Not only my students will improve their performance skills, but also in sight reading, ear training, music theory, and the ability to analyze and interpret pieces that they are given.

My mission is to cultivate musicians to be the best they can be by receiving a well-rounded music education, developing mastery, and becoming life-long music appreciators. My goal as an educator is to inspire and encourage students to test their limits and strive for musical, personal, and professional growth.

As a passionate cello player, I want my students to have fun but also really understand their instrument and the music they are playing! Students will learn their scales through the circle of fifths, shifting positions, vibrato techniques, music theory, and performing with an accompanist. They are expected to have fun but to work hard - it’s totally worth it!
