Hi Everyone!

Thank you for choosing my profile. My name is Maggie and I am a Polish/ Ukrainian/Belgian pianist. I come from family of musicians and painters and as long as I remember I play the piano, harpsichord, sing and compose. My parents own a piano school in Europe so thanks to that I started teaching already 15 years ago. Since then I have been teaching my own piano and voice students in the Bay area. I can teach beginners, medium level and advanced students of all ages but I also can prepare you for concerts or competitions if needed. My pupils perform at least twice a year. A little about myself: I have three Master Degrees in music from universities in Europe and USA . I speak English, French, Russian and Polish. I hope you will have fun learning music with me! Please write a quick intro about yourself and what would you like to learn this year. Thank you!

About Maggie

Hello Students! Let me know what is your goal in learning piano and which pieces you would like to learn. I hope I can do my best to instruct you and make the learning process pleasant and efficient. See you soon!

Karen is an incredibly skillful teacher. She is very passionate about music and it easy to be comfortable with her. She shares her training and knowledge very clearly. The vocal exercises seem very unique and holistic for body and voice health. She is very encouraging, caring, and soul-uplifting. I feel like I have a new connection with my voice and all that is connected to using it... as an instrument and the journey is only just starting. 45 minutes went by so fast. I am looking forward to my next lessons.

I thought I wanted to take viola lessons. Then I read her website and I realized that she might be able to help me get my voice back! I thought there was no hope ever. She has been extremely generous with her time, and I haven't seen her yet, but I'm not buying the viola I was planning on buying. I play cello, and piano still, but I am going to see if she can help me with my voice. She sounds incredible. I never dreamed that I could even have HOPE like this!

Thank you Damien!!!! Patient, non-judgmental, slow, clear instruction. I had one particular song I wanted to learn and Damien walked me through, step by step, how to. And in the meantime, taught me a bit about music theory and reading ... at my level. Before I signed up, I felt frustrated and overwhelmed. Now I feel confident and inspired ... taking my "sweet time" to get that muscle memory. The best. Thank you.
Mona
Damien explains the concept very well and asks questions to find out how much I already know. He tailors the classes to my abilities (I used to play piano and guitar) and interests. I am inspired to practise the techniques so I can play the music I chose. Just my third lesson and Damien is already introducing “improvisation” and that I was ready as long as I practise my scales. Being taught by Damien is exhilarating. Very blessed.

"So, Buzz is pretty much the best! I’m an adult with a full-time career and no musical background, and I've been looking around off and on for years to find a teacher who wasn't stuffy and was open to a non-traditional student with a semi-crazy work-life schedule. Buzz is patient, flexible, and really breaks down the lessons in ways that make sense to my logical thinking. I always walk away feeling that I learned something new and excited to learn more, which I feel is the biggest testament to his teaching skills. His expertise in music theory has really inspired me to do more than simply learn how to read music, too, and I have no doubt that I’ll be taking lessons with him for a long time to come. Plus he’s hilarious, so that helps."

Need for Speed: 5 Piano Finger Exercises to Increase Speed

Do you have a need for speed? Below, piano teacher Ryan C. shares some piano finger exercises that will help you increase speed when playing the piano... What makes a great pianist fun to watch?
