Morgan worked with me to better understand how to work with composers to score films, and he even ended up scoring one of my passion projects. His depth of knowledge is outstanding, and has helped me create stronger connections with professionals in the music industry. If you work with Morgan, whatever level you're at, you won't be disappointed.

Morgan started teaching my daughter beginner piano back in 2016 when she was 5 years old. A funny thing happened about a year into lessons. My wife and I had taken a video of our daughter playing the piano and we showed it to some friends. Turns out these friends know someone on the board of the Juilliard School, and when this person saw the video they reached out to my wife and I and said that they were going to recommend our daughter to a colleague of theirs at the Colburn School here in Los Angeles. So now my daughter is enrolled in a world-class performing arts school lol. Granted, my daughter is very enthusiastic about music and she puts the time in, but Morgan steers the ship in a great way. We're super grateful for this dude.

Get ready for a truly rich and rewarding experience. Maria studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Viktor Merzhanov. She is a 4th-generation pupil of Franz Liszt and 6th-generation of Beethoven. She was one of the fortunate few (Garrick Ohlsson among them) to study with Roberto Eyzaguirre, who was a student and friend of Claudio Arrau, one of the 20th-century's greatest pianists. Arrau studied with Martin Krause, who was one of Franz Liszt's final pupils. Liszt was taught by Carl Czerny. And Beethoven was Czerny's teacher. Through this great lineage, learn an incredible technique that will enable you to play the music of your dreams!

Maria is the best all-around music teacher I've ever head. She combines deep musicality, technical precision, rigor, and warmth. In just a handful of lessons, she's helped me find a level of ease and expression that I've never experienced with any other teacher.

I have felt drawn to the Russian language and culture for many years and had dabbled with learning the language the past year. I really wanted to take my learning process to the next level and really needed that in-person tutoring. Maria has exceeded my expectations. She is patient, beyond knowledgable, Warm-hearted, and radiates a high vibration. She truly teaches the language and culture from the heart. My Russian skills are improving rapidly under Maria's tutorship. When you take lessons from Maria you won't just be her student, you'll be her friend.
Gini D.
I have been studying with Maria for two months and she is the best piano teacher I have ever had. I played piano very seriously as a child, with excellent instruction using the technique of Josef and Rosina Lhevinne. As an adult, I did not play for several decades, so I am returning to piano as an older adult student. In the two months we have worked together, I have made tremendous progress.

The technique Maria teaches emphasizes using the weight of the body to produce sound while keeping the hands and arms relaxed and fluid, which not only produces a most beautiful and expressive tone, but protects the body from injury. Although similar to the Lhevinne technique, Maria’s technique takes it to higher level. Many piano teachers do not teach a technique but, in my opinion, solid technique is critical for an advanced student and best learned from the beginning.

Maria is patient and detail oriented and teaches all aspects piano with mastery. I highly recommend her.

All Ages and All Levels. Classically trained. Encourage students to incorporate favorite songs/genres of music be it rock, pop, jazz, etc. For all ages and levels, I prefer to incorporate music theory as part of the learning process. It allows the student to see the how and why, to not only feel music but also understand it. If your goal is primarily playing oriented, I will, of course, adjust my teaching style to fit your needs. Let's make beautiful music!

About Jenny

Music Jenny comes from a very musical family and started piano when she was five years old. She grew up constantly listening to her father practicing his guitar and brother practicing violin. Since then, her accomplishments include an Honorable Mention at the Korea Times Youth Music Competition. S

Working with Jenny has been a great experience.

She has a wealth of knowledge in music. She was raised around music so it comes as second nature to her. Her experience definitely shows from theory to technique, structure to general perspective.

Jen's wide-ranging experience allows her to accommodate different learning styles. Even when I was unsure of which methods were most suitable for me, she was able to determine an appropriate approach. Each lesson is tailored around your preference while still maintaining steady progress towards your goals.

She's flexible, patient, communicative, and fun to work with. Her versatility has made learning piano so much easier and more exciting for me than before. I'm always looking forward to each session. I've also been able to learn about other aspects of music, as she isn't limited to piano; she's knowledgeable of other instruments and teaches dance as well.

One of my favorite things about Jen is that, even though she's easy to work with, she ensures that I've truly grasped one concept before moving to the next. It's also always great to see her play (:

"We absolutely LOVE Jerry! My 10 yr. old daughter has been taking lessons with Jerry for 2 years now and my 8 year old son has been taking lessons for one year. My daughter has advanced so much and she loves to play. She says what she likes most is that Jerry is very patient and he is very kind and understanding. My son learns in a completely different way than my daughter and Jerry has mastered both of their personalities. Almost anything goes with my daughter but my son loses interest quickly. One day Jerry showed up with Star Wars music. We haven't been able to keep him off the piano since. He will get up before school in the morning and practice. Best experience ever!!!"

How Often Should You Tune a Piano?

Wondering about the average piano tuning cost, or how often you should tune a piano? You've come to the right place! Just as you go to the doctor for check-ups from time to time, your piano needs maintenance and care throughout its life. You may notice, especially if you have a keen ear, that your piano drops in pitch particularly during the summer and winter months.
