Working with Johnathan has been a joy.

It was my purpose setting out to study music in general, not just to study an instrument but to use the instrument as a means of approaching music in the abstract. I set out to study music’s mechanics and theoretical foundations.

Jonathan is very knowledgeable and very meticulous. He has a precise and analytical sort of mind, and very strong foundations in his classical training.

To have a wealth of knowledge in one's subject is not enough, one also has to know how to teach (which is a whole skillset of its own). It is clear Jonathan is an experienced teacher. I have never felt rushed with Jonathan, he is very generous with his time. He provides ample resources for study outside of our sessions, and is quick to respond to emails. He has lent me books, sent me links to videos, and provided me with plenty of homework.

Jonathan has also been very accommodating in allowing me to have some authority in planning lessons and exploring my own interests. Particularly I wanted to study modal music and found a folk song in the Locrian Mode. We took a break from the Suzuki work we had been doing and he helped me transcribe the song and practice.

I could not recommend Jonathan enough, I am switching focus from violin to piano for the time being and will be employing him as my piano tutor, and I’m very much considering taking spanish lessons under his tutelage as well.
Ian S.
Ian Really enjoyed his lesson. Jonathan is very knowledgeable and helped Ian with his basic skills and gave him great pointers. He also gave him an outline and daily practice requirements.
Jordan
Jordan really enjoyed his first lesson. Jonathan validated for him that the daily work he is putting in is helpful and gave him small steps to go forward with.

I teach French since 1973. I am a French native speaker and I do teach and tutor privately. I did teach in schools since November 2016-July 2017 at the Fort Bend Christian Academy. My students were 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders. My teaching experience started teaching my students about Le Petit Prince. This marvelous story caught on very fast the imagination and desire to learn French in all my students. Never failed! I teach students to speak French and not to just read from a book.
I have always been a member of the Alliance Francaise in Curacao and I did study methodology on how to teach French as second language at the French island of Guadeloupe, at L'Ecole Normale, at Pointe-a-Pitre, in 1975, sent by the Alliance Francaise of Curacao.

About Robert

My name is Robert M. I have a Spanish Teaching Degree from Curacao, a beautiful island that once was part of The Netherlands and I started teaching in 1973. So far I have been teaching Spanish for 12 years. I also have an Associate Degree in Applied Arts in Advertising Design from the Art Institute

Roula is a one of a kind instructor! It also doesn't hurt that she is funny and makes you laugh. She is detail oriented and able to adapt to your way of learning.

I appreciate that she proactively checks in to make sure her style of teaching is working for you and adjusts accordingly.

It was very difficult for me to find an instructor who is certified to teach AND who also specializes in teaching Arabic spoken in the Levant and Lebanon. If you are also looking for this particular specialty, Roula is the instructor you need.

Thank you Roula!

Just finished my 4th class with Isabelle. She has been very helpful with my French conversation. She meets me at my level and then challenges me. She speaks clearly and at a speed I can understand. The notes after the lesson are excellent and help me to continue my learning. I highly recommend Isabelle!
Brian
"Listener" is how I would describe Isabelle, and it's why she is a great teacher. I brought a lot of random questions into lessons each week and she helped me with all of the answers. She also used the answers to my questions to show me further examples to be able to help me frame why things were the way they were. This is my first French teacher but I couldn't be happier with the time I've gotten from Isabelle. I would highly recommend her as a teacher.

I first started learning French when I was in high school and was amazed at how many similarities it shared with Spanish (which both descend from Latin) which helped me to pick up things a lot faster. I have since lived in the "French House" (at the Foreign Language Student Residence, part of on-campus housing at BYU) for two semesters where residents are required to speak their target language while in their respective apartments. I also took a third-year advanced grammar French class while at college while living in the French House. French is just an awesome language to learn!

About Paul

I hail from Walla Walla, Washington, home of the "famous" sweet onions. I can't begin to express how much I love languages!! I have studied 8 so far (Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, and Dutch) and I teach 5 (Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Japanese), and w

"I highly recommend Isabelle as an expert in teaching French. She has great fluency in both French and English. Isabelle is from France and she regularly visits family there. Here in the United States, she and her husband have raised a family while she worked as an executive for an international company. These skills come forth beautifully in her style of teaching. For me, after one month of French lessons with Isabelle, I am much more comfortable with daily conversation, pronunciation, and verb conjugation. I enjoy our rapport and look forward to deepening my conversation skills with her."
