As my student you will learn very important basic to intermediate foundation knowledge of the painting process. This involves Color theory, canvas preparations (wood, Canvas and other substrate choices), Brush selections, Mediums and thinning, Paint storage and reusing. We will work on transferring ideas from still life or sketch to canvas. We will cover brush stroke effects, blending, highlighting and work processes for an efficient and most importantly fun workflow.

In our lessons, you will paint from life, exploring composition, concept, and mood through creative assignments. I will show you examples of historical and contemporary painting as we practice a range of techniques. You will gain confidence through practice and experimentation as you work towards developing your own style as an artist! And most importantly, you’ll have fun! Acrylic Painting Workshops have been proven winners in teaching the fundamentals of acrylic painting, Covering everything from stretching canvas, placing a protective coating and base, paints and brushes with examples to walk you through to creating wonderful pieces of art. My schooling background is in figure painting, modern painting techniques, color theory and composition. Students can expect to focus on learning a good foundation. I am familiar with several different approaches when working with acrylic paints. They include but are not limited to; direct painting, graphic approach, building up of layers using glazes and dry brushing. I also sensitive to the surfaces acrylic is used on; paper, canvas, fabric, metal and wood are just a few.

I have been teaching art for almost 14 years. The feedback I received from almost every student I have is that they cannot wait each week until it’s art day.
