I have a degree in music from Abilene Christian University, and have been taking voice lessons since 2005. I have been teaching voice lessons for 2 years, and already I have seen many eager singers come through my door. My students have gone on to audition for and sing in school musicals, bands, and even karaoke in a restaurant! Many of my students take lessons solely to have fun and improve their voices, or even just their breathing. Within the first few lessons (if you're practicing between lessons, of course!), you will start to notice an improvement in your breathing and as time goes on, you will reap the benefits in your singing! I teach any style of singing, especially opera and musical theater.

I have the following tools available for your lessons: recording equipment, practice logs, keyboard, and more.

I can work with students of all experience levels!

About Kailey
Hello there! Welcome to my profile.

My name is Kailey, and I'm 27 years old. I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a degree in Music (concentration in Voice). I have taken voice lessons ever since the age of 13, but I've been singing ever since I was in a crib. I've learned many things along my journey, and I would love to help other singers realize their full potential.

I have also played the piano ever since the 1st grade, and have taken lessons up through college. I offer lessons to beginners, young and old!

I teach lessons in my home studio on weekday evenings and on weekends. I also teach lessons online!

Music will always be my passion!

“Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here!”
― Dumbledore, J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

*** THE LESSON ***

I am a very easy going person and I like to have fun! I strive to be kind and understanding to people, especially students.

Here is what you can expect from a lesson with me:
Kindness
Support
Encouragement
Understanding
FUN

Each lesson is tailored to the student's unique needs. I use music that will suit the student's voice and experience level, and will help the student to improve in certain areas. Also, I allow students to bring in their own music that they would like to work on. I have had students bring in music for upcoming auditions, church solos, and even pieces solely for entertainment.

My lessons are all about doing things right. I focus on correct breathing, posture, etc, and help the student to learn what to listen for and feel in their own voice.

I encourage my students to spend time on their pieces outside of our lesson and emphasize the difference that practice can make. Trust me, I can tell when my students haven't practiced!

Most importantly, I strive to make my lessons enjoyable!

*** THE STUDIO ***

My studio is located at my house in a separate room. I have a keyboard, seating, music library, and a computer with speakers.

We have pets, but they are kept in a different part of the house during lessons.

*** SPECIALTIES ***

I strive to break bad habits, teach correct singing, and establish good technique. I have taught opera and pop styles, though I'm open to anything! My main focus is to get the student to sing correctly and efficiently. After that, style choice can come into play. With the correct technique, you can sing anything!

Kailey has a great way of giving mind visuals to help you understand what you need to do. I believe she has the perfect personality for a teacher. Someone who pushes you, but not too hard. Someone who can make the student feel comfortable. I've definitely progressed in my singing.

Learn how to sing with the correct support and control.

About Maureen
Maureen has been teaching private voice and piano lessons since 2009, and currently runs her own studio, as well as traveling to students' homes to teach lessons. She teaches anyone with an interest and willingness to learn, regardless of experience level.

Maureen received her Master of Music from the University of Maryland 2017 with an emphasis in Opera Performance. Her teaching style is tailored for each individual student, in that what works for one student won't necessarily work for the next (particularly in regards to singers), and strives towards finding the optimal method that encourages and helps students to improve. She firmly believes that anyone who is willing to dedicate the time and effort to learning a new instrument is capable of doing so, and looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals.

I start every lesson with vocal warm-ups. Then we learn different techniques to increase range, posture, and breathing. I can make song recommends and we work on songs that the student wants to learn. I set up video for my students to see and hear themselves. I accompany the student on either the piano or the guitar.

About Melody
My musical experience began at the age of 4 on the piano. I have been classically trained for most of my life. I have performed on soundtracks, played with bands (in genres from Jazz to Metal), and accompanied choirs. I have taught intro to piano and music theory since the age of 15. Currently, I teach throughout the Dallas metroplex, play in several bands, as well as write music for Television and Film.

I see music as a language. Once it is mastered, it can be shared with anyone, anywhere. My goal as an instructor is to provide my students with an opportunity to discover their own musical potentials. From breaking the ice from playing for the very first time, to perfecting even the most structured and difficult pieces, I feel there are no limits. I feel comfortable teaching in any genre and always tailor my classes to match my studen
ts own individual learning style. In my lessons, I highlight important principles right from the start, such as posture, proper fingering, and rhythm training, to ensure no bad habits form that later are hard to break. As we become more confident in our playing, we transfer some of the traits contained within us. Those traits become the character and style of our "musical speech," which will help to define us as musicians. I recommend books and provide sheet music when we start learning songs. Learning music with me has been said by many of my students as, "the most fun they have ever had playing music."

In addition to music, I teach science in the subjects of Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology. I have my 200 hr yoga teaching certification and teach private class to aid people in living a healthy, fulfilling life.

Thanks again for reading my profile. Hope to meet you soon.

Whether just beginning or an advanced singer preparing for a big audition, I can help you to unleash your full potential. With years of experience singing and performing, I can help you learn the techniques and good habits that help to develop your voice and achieve your goals.

About Jasmyne
From a young age, Jasmyne has had a love for music and the stage. She grew up in a large family where music was important, and began singing at age four and acting when she turned ten. Jasmyne was actively involved in numerous stage productions throughout her school years, and landed many lead roles. She received numerous vocal competition awards and a Fine Arts scholarship to pursue her degree in music.

While attending college at BYU-Idaho, Jasmyne developed a deep passion for opera and has loved it ever since. Jasmyne is a classically trained mezzo-soprano who starred in many opera productions and selected for prestigious soloist roles.

Jasmyne's love for education (along with some help from her spunky, go-getter attitude) led her to realize that she was born to teach and help others reach their potential. She wants every student
to learn that they have something valuable to offer, and that through hard work and determination they can be successful.

I am passionate about bringing out the artist and music lover in all of my students. I am vocal coach, but also an active performer and recording artist in the rock/pop/R&B/metal genres. I have and utilize extensive knowledge of music theory in order to teach students how to understand and perform harmony and melodic improvisation. I work to make my students gain a refined and powerful, yet unique voice. My studio comes with connections to professional audio engineers and videographers for when a student may want any recordings or media done. I also assist with songwriting for students interested. Want to sing your favorite Broadway tunes? Learn to hit that high note thats giving you trouble? Just want to feel more comfortable speaking and singing in public? My approach to voice begins with the basics and is deeply rooted in ear training and music theory. I am classically trained and I work as a musical director in musical theatre. I do audition coaching and actor training as well.

About Anthony
I am a professional intrumentalist( guitar, mandolin, piano, bass), writer and string theorist witha degree in theatre from Oklahoma State University. I sing, act and play instruments for professional equity theatres in my area and have music directed several community and childrens productions. I am largely self taught and consider myself my own best student. I have also studied voice and guitar with several professionals.

My voice students will learn ear training, to relax into their singing and to strengthen their voice week to week. Each student receives a personalized plan. I also offer audition coaching for those looking to take the next step in the acting world.

My instrumental students will begin by learning ear training and basic structure from there I make it about you and what you want to learn.

· Singing · In studio
In the summer of 2017, I had the pleasure of attending a handful of youth musicals at the Georgetown Palace Theatre (Austin, TX area). As a theatre major, after having viewed these shows it was evident to me that the team which helped put them together really knew their stuff, and that in particular music director Mr. Anthony had gone above and beyond to make these shows something special. I spoke with him a little about the rehearsal process and was amazed to learn not only that he had taught the kids all of the music in only two weeks, but that he was only a seasonal staff member there for the summer programs and was essentially fresh out of college. Mr. Anthony’s professional presence and expertise would lead one to believe he was a tenured staff member at the Palace. Additionally, my childcare background allows me to appreciate how difficult it can be to get 20+ kids still, quiet and paying attention all at once. Mr. Anthony did that, AND taught them an entire musical soundtrack in a period of only two weeks, and when show time came the kids knew what lyrics and notes to sing for their solos! I still remember, after having rehearsed the same songs in music class for months in grade school, having to sing under my breath in the middle of a song and follow along with the rest of the choir because I STILL didn’t have the words memorized! Maybe that’s just me? Either way, whatever Mr. Anthony is doing, it works. Oh, and the kids were crazy about him!

The Palace Theatre found a real gem in Mr. Anthony this summer and I hope his excellent work continues to inspire! He is so passionate about his work and cares about his clients’ success. He is great with kids, they will have tons of fun learning from him. If you or your child are looking for a top-notch teacher, look no further!
