I'm in a country band where I sing and play guitar.
Hello, my name is Ben and GUITAR IS MY BUSINESS...AND MY BUSINESS IS GOOD so please consider me. I've been playing guitar for over 18 years and have been in playing bands for 12 years. Recently after the band broke up, I decided to further my education and went to Musicians Institute in Hollywood California. There I was taught by the best guitar players in the world. Marty Friedman, Paul Gilbert, Scott Henderson, Tommy Emmanuel and Johnny Hiland were just a few of the great players who gave clinics there. I received a degree in Guitar Performance and the knowledge I received there made me UNDERSTAND the mystery that is the guitar.
I can teach Rock/Metal, Country (lead and rhythm), Blues, Alternative, Acoustic, Classical, Chord Melody, Melodic Soloing, Twang, Chords, Scales, Modes, Many different lead and rhythm techniques a
nd more importantly any song you want to go over.
I feel learning to play your favorite songs is the most important and the most fun about guitar playing. After playing songs, some of the information given (scales, chords, theory, ear-training) starts to make some since and you begin to slowly figure the guitar out.
Theory and Ear-training I feel are very important to learn when trying to understand music. It just gives you a basic mathematical way of understanding how music works. It can be very frustrating to learn and takes some time to sink in so if you don't want to learn it then that is great. Ear-training is cool because when you start to understand it you can actually hear music and not just listen to it. You can listen to a chord progression on the radio and go home and play it and also improvise over it.
I encourage BEGINNERS through EXPERT to at least hear what I have to say. I have A LOT of information to give about the guitar. I played for ten years made 2 demo CDs, one full length album, another demo specifically for Metal Blade Records, was in a big cover band and so I thought I knew it all and was a great guitar player. Then I went to GUITAR SCHOOL in Hollywood and reality hit me. I wasn't as good as I thought. When you hear the best guitar players in the world everyday for a year and a half like I did at Musicians Institute it makes you want to be better and practice, practice, practice. I learned everything there about guitar and music and I know the Right way to teach.
Please consider me for your guitar teacher I will make it fun and a good learning experience as well.
Thank you, Ben

Lisa is a visionary teacher, professional musician and arts advocate. She is an active singer, actress, director, pianist, clinician, conductor and adjudicator. More importantly she is a mentor, an educator and encourager to thousands of performers. Lisa Kay has performed professionally for twenty years as a soloist in opera, oratorio, recital, musical theatre and jazz. She has taught in summer programs in Rome, Viterbo and throughout the US. She has served as music professor at several institutions including Colorado Christian University. She is a published playwright, a national drama critic and an acclaimed director and performer. She is passionate about the arts and empowering artists.
I am a singer-pianist-actor Or a pianist-singer-actor. :-) I have a bachelors degree in voice performance and a minor in piano and theater. I have a masters degree in voice as well as a second masters in piano literature. i have a certificate in comedy improvisation from Second City and am a professional actor. I am the owner and senior talent agent of a large talent agency in the DFW area. My post graduate work is in vocal pedagogy. I have been a professional teacher and performer for over 20 years. I own and manage a professional talent agency in the DFW area. My students come in every model imaginable - and I wouldn't have it any other way. Raw beginner or veteran actor or musician, professional recording artist, College music major or American Idol wannabe.
The arts are such a great language for communicating. I grew up
with two parents who were professional musicians (mom is a concert pianist) and I also raised 3 children who are professional musicians. We made music our native language in our home. We all have the ability to speak music when it is spoken to us. I don’t ever remember not playing the piano. I started winning piano competitions in high school. I minored in piano, and then did additional post graduate work in piano. I “speak” piano. It has served me so well as a teacher, composer, opera coach. It is really a gateway to understanding all other instruments. The same scenario with my singing.
I began my professional career as an opera singer which has taken me around the world. I have premiered works by Leonard Bernstein and Samuel Adler in addition to principal roles and concert work with Pittsburgh Opera, The Pittsburgh Symphony, Dayton Opera, the Tuscia Opera Festival and hundreds of professional engagements. I have also had the wonderful opportunity to belt the National Anthem for several major league teams in a television appearance- and has done so on multiple occasions. (Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Reds) I am passionate about vocal jazz and musical theater and am frequently found as a performer in various national and regional venues. Feature concert works include PBS (Gershwin in Concert) as well as featured solo concert works (Pergolesi Stabat Mater) on Italian Public TV.
My approach to music has always been to do what you love. I have never limited myself as a performer to a genre or an instrument. I have explored, applied myself to and enjoyed a very diverse musical career. If you have a passion for an instrument or style of music let's start there first... and then let's discover together all the things you do that uniquely define your musicianship style.
*** Lesson Details *** Your lessons will always be engaging, challenging and fun!
I am very consistent in my approach to technique, my focus on goals and my demand for excellence. I constantly am working to access with you what your goals are and to provide feedback and support to help you achieve them.
I am very flexible in utilizing a wide variety of repertoire, resources etc. Your lessons are personalized to your skill set and your musical interests. I utilize audio and video recordings almost every week for all my students. I routinely promote and encourage my students to participate in a wide variety of competitions, recitals, workshops and master classes.
I have a very low turnover rate for students and a very high rate of students who have progressed to professional full time careers in music. Students like being a part of my studio and really like the confidence they have in their music abilities in a very short period of time.
I do not use the same curriculum for all students, in face, each curriculum is customized for that student. The components are similar: technique, repertoire, theory, listening, composing, recording and performing.
You can expect the following:You will feel very encouraged and supported in your talent. You will have measurable improvement in your skills. You will have a personal advocate to encourage and direct you in finding and creating opportunities to succeed in your music personally, academically and professionally.

Currently Offering Group Master Classes for Vocal Training.
~2 hour group class for $40.00~
Feel free to reach out regarding dates and give Takelessons a call to book the lessons.
Mostly I work with singers in the recording studio to help them find themselves - their style - their voice - their sound - who they are. What are you saying? Why are you singing it that way? Is that how you want to sound? Is that who you want to be?... etc. I'm not a vocal coach for teaching you technique - I work more on helping you develop a style for recording studio.
I teach my students how to understand how music is put together so they can learn even more on their own.
I read, write, and play all styles and I focus on teaching the student fundamentals that work in all styles of music ....AND I get them going on the style they are interested in - pop, rock, country, folk, etc.
I have spent my entire life in the music industry and I can show you how to use what I teach to apply to the real world. I have also been a successful songwriter and I can work with students to learn about song structure and song writing.
I am also good at preparing students for college music classes.
*** Lesson Details *** I like to break it down into small steps and accomplish them, then move on to the next.
Each person learns differently and I am good at connecting with how you learn - then we can use a boo
k or CD or not according to your needs.
I have several books to choose from as well as CDs and other tools. BUT .....some things are learned best through 1 on 1 instruction and explanation without a book.
I like to see progress every week and I usually do.
*** Studio Equipment *** recording studio w/ seating for parents
*** Travel Equipment *** Student needs instrument only to start and discuss from there. I have many tuners, metronomes, props, books, etc
*** Specialties *** I teach using modern popular songs as vehicles but back up examples with theory and some reading and ear training. I usually get quick results and my students can understand the music as well as play it.
Really good at understanding where I made mistakes and very good atmosphere 😊

Billy is a great teacher with a wealth of music knowledge and experience! Our 9-year old son is taking guitar lessons with him. Billy has met him right where he's at, and has made the lessons fun and engaging for my boy. GREAT WORK, BILLY!!!
We shall begin with developing strength in your diaphragm then diaphragmatic breathing and techniques (you will need to practice at home after lessons). Then on to studying from a combination of manuals while using your favorite songs to make improvements. I will teach you how to use a microphone once you show improvement.
Please read "About You" section to learn the recent student success stories.
About Susan B.
After 30+ years of professional musicianship spanning across two continents (North America and Europe) with original published songs available digitally (on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc.) and two CDs on the market (a third still in production) I retired from "performing" in 2010 and started teaching classical, blues, jazz and pop piano; piano/voice, classical guitar, pop and/or rock guitar/voice, songwriting and theory. My motto: From the movie, Beethoven Lives Upstairs ... "Great musicians need the spirit of a gypsy; the discipline of a soldier!"
I especially enjoy teaching families with multiple siblings (as young as four - degreed in Family and Child Development: Social Services and Early Childhood Education) and can get any combination of two or more people playing music together (please see reviews). Many of my current middle
school Takelessons students started with me when they were four and five and now perform regularly in student showcases, school talent shows and in church. I have helped five students gain entry into the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy.
If your young child is showing signs of high musical intelligence (sings a lot, keeps good rhythm, or is attracted to an instrument), I would be very interested in talking with you to get them a good start in musical training and education.
Lessons are recurring, once per week - it is extremely important to develop the brain, nervous system, fine motor skills simultaneously using repetitive movements, patterns, and momentum. I host annual student showcases at independent senior centers, most students grow and love these experiences … the people there are great and it helps build students’ confidence levels.
I wrote my first song at 17 and helped work my way through college playing my original music and covers as solo artist in coffee shops in Manhattan KS and at KSU’s student union. As songwriter and founding member of “Progressive Wood” (a KSU prominent band), we performed at campus parties, state fairs and festivals as I earned my bachelors degree.
Starting 2005, I worked many years as one of Arlington ISD's favored substitute teacher, teaching general elementary music classes, middle and high school orchestra, band, and choir. I was asked to create and teach a beginning songwriting class for elementary students and from the very first day had kids K-6 behaving in the palm of my hand. Some of those students eventually recorded their own original songs in professional studios. Current students are composing their own songs with plans to schedule recording sessions in professional grade studios here in DFW. One guitar student in the 5th grade is planning a small business playing classical guitar at weddings (first wedding performance coming up June 22).
If you already know an instrument and want to take combination lessons - Voice/Piano or Voice/Guitar and/or composition, or brush up on childhood learned skills, I am an motivator!, I LOVE teaching people how to recognize and use creative energy. NOTE After 30 singing lessons, one of my adult students signed with eight grammy-award winning LA music producer for his first EP - left a successful career in law and started his tour on the East Coast after releasing his first digital composition on CD. Another adult female student recently released her first EP in 2018!
If you are the creative type and wish to compose your own music or need help with production, I teach not only composition … also arranging, music production, notation, business organization and legal aspects of copyrights and international distribution (experienced paralegal in entertainment law). I also am the founder and owner of SBT Records, and Little Road Publishing Company.
My daughter has been under the wonderful care of Ms. Taylor for over 2 years now and she has learned and grown tremendously under her care. From not knowing how to read notes or any finger placements, to reading notes and switching things up ( different tempos) while playing the piano on her own.
Ms. Taylor pays attention to detail and is very easy going that makes it easy for my daughter to learn. She is very compassionate. She has also taught her breathing techniques along with voice training. She keeps her grounded and motivated. My daughter has a passion for music and is in the best possible hands. She is very flexible and accommodating!
Thank you so much for everything you do to help her flourish!!
We LOVE and APPRECIATE YOU!!

Susan is a excellent teacher, she has shown great patience and allows you to learn at your own pace. For an adult student with very little childhood training and having taken lessons once before as an adult she has done a masterful job learning what I want to learn and has been very open minded on which direction to go in as far as my lessons go. I am amazed that she has pulled some thoughts and ideas out of me that I didn't realize I had and has taught me patience in learning the piano.
If you are an adult student wanting to learn the piano or advance in piano Susan is the perfect teacher, she is flexible and takes the time to learn what your individual goals are in the piano. She has changed courses with my learning based on my interests, and for that I am thankful. If you are looking for a very talented music teacher (especially if you have done lessons before and have been thinking of giving it one last try) I would highly recommend Susan as the person to work with. 5 stars all the way!!
Group and individual lessons available; basics for healthy singing, choral and solo singing
Hillary C. has been singing since joining the Sunrise Singers in elementary school. While singing in various choral groups, she also took private lessons to develop proper vocal technique. Her own students will appreciate the classical training she received as well as musical theater styles she has learned over the years.
At Washington and Lee University, Hillary participated in University Chorus, Chamber Singers, an a cappella group, and performed in musicals on stage. She studied music history, performance, and theory. Hillary earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Vocal Production and received the Choral Award upon graduation. She has performed with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, Dallas Symphony Chorus, and Incarnation church choir.
Hillary also studied piano for seven years during which time she won theory awards and was the star
pupil of her studio. She recently began a piano pedagogy class for continuing education credit.
Students under Hillary's tutelage can expect to gain an appreciation for classic works, learn basic music theory and ear training, and understand proper keyboard or vocal technique. She believes success comes from loving music and working hard to perform well.
Hillary is such a positive person and was so patient with my first time singer.

Hillary was very good with my 4 year old. He was reluctant at first, but she was able to bring him around and he ended up loving his lesson. He was so happy he called daddy and grandma on the way home to tell them about it.
I have experience singing in choirs and with various groups throughout North Texas. I am currently teaching beginner to advanced voice lessons ages 4 and up.
I am a professional musician and educator. I have always enjoyed and been eager to share the musical knowledge that I learned from the very first music lesson I ever had; this feeling in me has never changed. I simply love to help people who want to learn new instruments. I am patient and encouraging, helping you to always believe in yourself and I believe and have the educational means to help you do it. Whether it is piano, guitar or some other instrument you want to learn, I can help you. I was became entirely dedicated to music when I was 14 years old. I learned Classical/Jazz/Pop Guitar, Piano and Flute/Recorder/Alto Sax. As soon as I started learning, I started teaching. In my church there were a lot of kids that didn't have the opportunity to learn music, so I volunteered and became their music teacher passing on to them whateve
r I learned myself. As I grew older, I kept on studying and teaching music as a church volunteer and noticed that my own skills would dramatically improve just because I was devoted to my student's learning. I pursued a degree in Music Education in New York City at the Aaron Copland School of Music. The education and experience I gained from college, drastically improved my teaching skills and I was able to work as a Music Teaching Assistant for a private school in NYC, a Senior Chess instructor for after school programs and a Private Music Studio teacher. Nowadays I am an active music teacher and performer, looking for new students and opportunities to share the love of music. I always reach out to people who have musical interests and want to further develop or experiment with music.
I had my very first lesson today with Sal, and I’m excited about some very cute things he taught me in just a short period of time. He is very talented, approachable, enjoyable to work with, and knows what he’s doing. I look forward to learning and growing with him.

This brief lesson was helpful, especially since its my first time learning. I learned a few chords and now have some homework to do. Very personable and straightforward! I just moved back to Dallas and needing some instructions to finally get started.
I am an opera singer who has experience teaching multiple genres including pop, rock, jazz and classical. I create monthly plans for my students and teach them techniques to feel in control of their singing and confident.
I am an opera singer and pianist who studied at the Aaron Copland School of Music in NYC and I recently moved to Texas to further my studies in music education.
I started teaching piano and voice privately in New York City in 2012 and I continue to in North Texas. I have experience teaching ages 4 to 80 in both voice and piano. I started training in both singing and piano in 2001 and as result have performed from Carnegie Hall to the Vatican.
My daughter has been taking lessons for a few months now and the results have been amazing. Natasha has brought her out of her shell and helped her become confident in her singing abilities. She teaches such interesting details about vocal methods. She is amazing.

"Katie made our daughter feel comfortable and love music from the very first lesson!"
"She was patient with me, completely sweet, and clear with her instructions."
Just kidding. There
is no secret recipe. Really, the best and most basic way to keep your
voice in shape is to hydrate. Water is key to a great singing voice.
So you should definitely keep some water around while you’re singing
right? That’ll keep you perfectly hydrated! Not quite. Its good to
have water around when you sing, but it won’t actually reach your vocal
folds. Whatever you drank about two hours ago is what is really doing
all the work. So try to drink at least …
