你们好, I'm Xu Laoshi! I teach Chinese at a private school in New Jersey. I was born and grew up in Jiangsu Province, China. I received my B.A from Beijing Language and Culture University, majoring in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. I also went on to study at SUNY Binghamton where I received my M.A in Asian Studies. Before moving to NJ, I taught Chinese at a boarding high school in Virginia. Since I went to college, I have never doubted that being a teacher will be my life-long career. My inspiration for teaching comes from a passion for working with and learning from the students. Every time I see the excitement and curiosity in my students’ eyes, that motivates me to be a more knowledgeable and approachable teacher. I currently live in Somerset, NJ. I enjoy photography, Chinese calligraphy, and playing tennis in my leisure time. Last summer, I went to Seattle for a break - I hiked a couple of amazing trails around Mount Rainier and was so excited to see the glacier lake! I believe that learning is like hiking on a mountain: all your efforts will be paid off when you see the fabulous view on the top. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you and become your Chinese tutor!
