Hello! My name is Whitney. I am currently an Education Major at Florida Southern and a combat medic with the Georgia Army National Guard. Recently, I became a member of Kappa Delta Pi; which is an educational honor society. I also made the President's Scholars List Spring 2016!
I have been substituting since 2006 with a couple breaks here and there because of deployments and training. I love learning. I also love working with people and teaching them fun new skills they can apply to their every day lives.
I have taught various types of classes that cover areas from basic first aid all the way to common core math; which is ironic because it isn't commonly used. I have deployed to Afghanistan, Guyana and trained in Germany. I love my job as a medic mostly because I get to meet new people and teach them, as well. Overall, I hope to use this medium to further my teaching experience and learn new techniques to apply to my classroom in the future.
Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), International Honor Society in Education, was founded in 1911 to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. For over a century, the Society has consistently grown, starting with a local chapter to become the international organization it is today, with an initiated membership that exceeds 1.2 million!
Using a variety of programs, services, and resources, KDP supports and advances educators throughout the phases and levels of their teaching careers.
