History with Tony G.

Hi, my name is Tony, and I am a veteran of 25 plus years teaching History in the state of NJ. I am well versed in US and World History at both the Elementary and High School levels, as I have taught students from grades 6 to 11. Besides the traditional aspects of History, I enjoy teaching my students the History of sports (Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey and Professional Wrestling) and the History of the US through film. Throughout my career as a teacher, I have also served as a coach (elementary school boys basketball, JV girls basketball, JV boys baseball and my longest tenure at JV girls tennis). Besides coaching, I also worked as an umpire for Middle and High School baseball and softball in the state of NJ. Personally, I am a graduate of Seton Hall University, class of 1984. In the classroom, I enjoy involving personal anecdotes about my childhood, as well as my father’s, to explain the aspect of inflation, as well as other points in History, to my students. I have found, during my career as a teacher, that the infusion of some laughter helps the lesson flow more smoothly. This venue will allow me to share my expertise and love of History with anyone who wants to in a very thoughtful, respectful and supportive manner. History can be fun, exciting and informative, you just need the right teacher and here I am!
