I have been teaching mathematics since I was in college for my Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics. I believe everyone is capable of being good at mathematics, but it is a study that builds on itself - if you do not have a good understanding of the foundation of mathematics, everything taught after that will seem arbitrary. So, I first seek to help students in what foundational aspects of math they are lacking in understanding and build their confidence in those core mathematical concepts. Then, I want to develop the student's logical reasoning skills while tackling their current lessons. I do not teach memorization of formulas unless we first establish why the formula makes sense. My ultimate goal in teaching mathematics is that it makes sense to the student.
