I have the experience, education, and the fun sense of humor to create great lessons for children and adults of all ages and abilities to learn English, TEFL, TESOL, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and Teaching English as a Second Language . I can help you if you are learning English as a second language, or if you are a native speaker but need help with English reading, writing, or composition. But most of all, I think learning should be fun! My goal is for you to learn a lot and to have fun doing it. I am easy going and am able to help break down complex ideas and subjects into easy to understand bite-size pieces of information.

I have a BA degree in Psychology from California State University, Sacramento and a MPA degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills, which is a Masters degree in Public Administration with a specialization in Nonprofit Management, So, as you can see, I have the academic know how and excel in English reading, writing, and composition skills. In addition, I also have 12 Early Childhood Education units from Consumnes River College here in Sacramento, California where I am from. So I have experience teaching everyone from preschoolers to adults in college. In addition, I have taught children and adults with special needs.

About Stephenie G.

Hi there!

My name is Stephenie. I have an extensive history of teaching a variety of subjects throughout my adult life starting in 1992 with violin lessons given in my home. I played classical violin throughout my childhood and early adulthood. I have also taught jewelry making at a local bead store and in my jewelry studio in my own home. Later, after getting my BA in Psychology and my education in early childhood education, I started teaching students from preschool age to adulthood in English as a foreign language, English reading, and English writing. I have also taught young children to read through the use of phonics, as well as teaching students with special abilities such as learning disabilities and ADHD. I also tutored adult learners in academic writing while I was getting my MPA, Masters in Public Administration, Non profit Management.

I have had a varied career in social services and management, but throughout all of it, my love of teaching has been there. I could never stop myself from offering teaching and tutoring on the side. As I am older now, and wish to focus on what I really love, I am focusing again on teaching. I am teaching English as a second language, English reading and writing. I have a wide variety of interests and am a very creative person.

I bring that creativity, my sense of humor, and my easy going personality into every lesson I teach. Learning should always be fun! My students have fun and learn so much at the same time. That is the key to good teaching. Not just what you learn, but how you learn, and how you feel while learning. My students learn so much from me, but they also have fun doing it and enjoy what they are learning, even if they have had a hard time with the subject in the past. Come sign up for a lesson with me. I would love to meet you and help make your learning fun and enjoyable.

Our 28 year old autistic son came skipping down the stairs with a joy and enthusiasm we haven't seen in a very long time. He told me all about the lesson, then he told me all about Stephanie G. The instruction went so well online he created an earring. Amazing, considering his learning disabilities which include fine motor skill issues.
The statment , " She liked me too. She liked my ideas and said I was doing a good job," will stay in my heart forever.
HIs joy and confidence are absolutlely priceless.
Thank you, Stephanie G. for being an incredibly motivating skilled teacher.

Stephenie is the perfect combination of knowledge, practical skill, patience, and encouragement. She has a student centered style that makes you feel comfortable asking questions and expressing struggles. She is right there next to you in your educational journey. I always have the sense that she has my back, that she genuinely cares about my progress. And she has a gentle sense of humor as well. I wish there were more teachers like her.

I've known Stephenie for a number of years and in different professional roles. The thing that impressed me the most was her ability to be organized and give clear directions. She is articulate and caring. I've experienced firsthand her attention to the details of each person who she was either serving or supervising. I think she will be a great teacher for any subject.
