My name is Dr. Shalom Michael A., I am a San Diego native. I have a history with basketball, football, and track & field. My bachelor's is in Kinesiology, the study of human body movement. Master's in Physical Education, and doctorate in Educational Leadership. My research delves into the Net-generation students motivation and the factors of why they stay in college. Therefore, I researched identity development, intrinsic motivation, choice, and persistence. Teaching community college level for the past 7 years and currently teach at the community colleges, I teach the Health & Lifestyles course. Lastly, taught at a Early Middle college PE program in which I wrote an innovative curriculum. Briefly about my personality, I believe in the Socratic style of teaching which is through dialogue and asking questions. This style fits my personality because I am very interactive with students, I am funny, and believe that humor and learning can go hand-in-hand, or at least learning and fun.
