Certified teacher for Japanese (EC-12), Mandarin(EC-12) and Art(EC-12). I grew up speaking Japanese, Mandarin and Taiwanese, so I have no problem mixing them up to meet your need. Many years of freelance tutoring experience for Japanese and Mandarin have helped me teaching all levels of Japanese including Pre-AP and AP classes at my former employment of 9 years at a public high school. While I appreciate having a structured learning environment at a school setting, I miss the free-style teaching that suits the needs of each student. Desires to learn come strongest when one is genuinely interested in something, and rarely do those desires come from wanting to learn from a textbook . I hope you will have fun and enjoy my classes. I graduated with degrees in art and film. I also studied architecture for my graduate degree, after I worked at an architecture firm for nearly two years. As part of my art and film degree, I am trained in typography, graphic design, presentation design and film production which come in handy when I create my class materials for my students. My tutoring experience started while attending my graduate program in architecture. I began tutoring college level Japanese to help students succeed in their studies. Through my help these students were able to ace Japanese course placement tests. Since then I have tutored from middle school to high school and even continuing education in business Japanese.
