Plan, Write, and Edit your writing alongside a writing tutor who has published

I truly love writing and editing, and I am here to help you with any stage of the writing process! My specialty, however, is in helping you to edit your piece to its final form - no matter if you are writing an academic essay, a creative writing piece, or an article to be published, I am here to help you polish your work without removing your voice. My approach is collaborative and laid back. I provide a lot of feedback and make sure to provide reasoning for my feedback. I want you to not just make a change because I tell you something is better, I want you to understand why something should be reworded or reworked. In other words, it is not only my hope to help you improve the specific piece of writing we are working on, it is also my hope to help you develop your skills as a writer. I promise to approach your work with the respect you deserve - I will never judge you or make you feel that your writing is bad, because it isn't! Any writing can be good, even if it isn't quite there yet. I can't wait to have the opportunity to work with you!

Hello! I am an Undergraduate Academic Advisor at a large university on the East Coast. My wife, Hayley, and our cats - Cheddar and Camembert - are a huge part of my life, and you may even see Sebastian make an appearance in our meetings! I love helping others learn and getting to know other people (in addition to reading and playing video games). I have experience in a number of areas - psychology, math, computer science, music, and writing - to name a few. Through a varied experience that has included working as a writing and statistics tutor and teaching assistant while in graduate school studying psychology, to working as a paramedic, to now working as an undergraduate academic advisor, I call on all of my experiences in my work with students. I specialize in simplifying complex topics and keeping topic matter engaging and fun. I focus on personalizing my tutoring to individual student needs including neurodivergent students or those with other special needs. I am equally comfortable working with young children as I am with college students and beyond. In short, I am here to help build understanding and, possibly more importantly, help students to build confidence and bolster their self-esteem. I hope to have the opportunity to work with you soon!

Amazing tutor! He has helped me bridge the gap between learning statistics and truly understanding it. I would highly recommend him!

Patrick is an excellent writing teacher. He has keen eyes on grammar and sentence structure, as well as a stylish sense of writing. One of his strengths is using the objective of my work to help me develop the content so that the end product is well-focused and right on target. What is best is that he is kind and attentive when it comes to corrections and suggestions. A great teacher to work with. Highly recommended!!

The session was terrific and I feel more confident in my writing. The teacher used humor and did not make me feel like an idiot for requesting help.
