I am bilingual in French and English. I received my bachelor's degree in French from Columbia University, where I graduated summa cum laude, and my master's degree from the Université Paris III Sorbonne-Nouvelle. Since graduation I have taught French (and arts classes/workshops in French) at various bilingual schools and organizations around New York City and Boston. I also work as a professional translator between French and English, and a filmmaker specializing in bilingual media.
I teach French in private and group lessons.

Nicola is an excellent teacher. Previous French classes only improved my reading and writing skills, but with Nicola not only did those skills improve, but I feel more confident listening and verbally responding to native speakers. She is willing to design her lesson plans around each students goals and does not just base each lesson around general handouts and worksheets. Can’t recommend her enough.+ Read More
Nicola is an amazing teacher. I've taken French classes and some private lessons with Nicola and I've always come out learning new French vocabulary, verbs, slang and etc. Her passion and enthusiasm makes the lesson so interesting. What got me excited was that she taught me French by using the BD (Bande Dessinee) aka French comics. I highly recommend Nicola!!+ Read More
Nicola is a wonderful french teacher, and it was a pleasure taking classes with her. I took french throughout school, and I wanted to relearn and practice after I had been away from the language for a while. In our lessons, Nicola thoroughly reviewed concepts I knew to get me up to speed, and taught me new words, grammar, etc. She went at my pace, often checking in with me to review what we had just been over to make sure I understood. Nicola suggested a variety of interesting supplemental material in different formats (books, videos, etc.) that were fun to review outside of class. She is a very kind and dynamic person, and it was a pleasure getting to know her in general.+ Read More
Nicola is a delightful teacher. I've had the privilege of having her in a classroom set and in one-on-one and she was so knowledgeable and patient and sweet. She knows how to intertwine our personal interests with her lessons plans and that helps the lessons to be better absorbed. I loved reading French books with her.+ Read More
After a long hiatus from studying French in high school, Nicola was the perfect person to guide me back into the subject. She was enthusiastic, positive and put me entirely at ease - she was able to identify ways to challenge and motivate me in equal measure and made each lesson a pure pleasure!+ Read More
Nicola is obviously very passionate about the language and I had fun with her reading French graphic novels and chatting about our lives and current events en francais. I would recommend her to beginners and those like myself, who studied French/lived in France but need a refresher and a conversation partner.+ Read More
I am a native language French speaker, growing up speaking only French.
I recently took a course in a classroom setting,
luckily enough with Nicola as the instructor.
I was and am impressed with Nicola's knowledge, pronounciation, patience,
enthusiasm and overall upbeat approach.
By having one on one conversation
Nicola has helped me rekindle my native
knowledge to the point of confidence
and willingness to speak and even write.
I recommed Nicola to anyone who seriously
wants to learn and enjoy French.
