Hello! My name is Miriam. I currently work as a bilingual elementary teacher. I work with kids whose first language is not English, so while learning their core subjects (Math, Science, etc), they also need to learn English.
Before that, I worked for nine years at Berlitz International in Mexico City, teaching English and Spanish as a foreign language. There, I used to work mostly with adults but we also had some children's courses which I truly enjoyed leading.
I have a TEFL certification which I obtained when I lived in Mexico. I am also certified by the state of Texas as a bilingual (Spanish / English) elementary educator, and I'm currently starting my Master's degree in Applied Linguistics to teach Spanish as a foreign language.
I believe the best way to learn something new is by using it as much as possible while having fun. And that's what I'm offering you: lots of opportunities to practice in a fun way. I look forward to meeting you and help you achieve your goals!
