I have a MS in Organometallic Chemistry. What is Organometallic Chemistry you may be thinking. It is the combination of organic chemistry and metals. Many of you are familiar with at least one organometallic compound: i.e. hemoglobin which is an organic compound containing iron in the blood. I worked 32 years as either research chemist or as a product development chemist. I worked for two Fortune 500 companies: Sun Oil and Schlumberger. I have 3 patents, 10 publications. After retiring from Schlumberger, I taught chemistry at a community college for 20 years. I taught general chemistry 1 and 2 and organic chemistry. I take a relaxed approach to teaching. My lectures began with a joke or cartoon. My exams always had a chemistry joke
