Patient & Experienced Certified Math Teacher Grades 6-12/Algebra 1

I have 10 years of experience teaching Algebra 1. My goal as a tutor is to help my students meet their maximum learning potential. I create personalized learning plans for each student to guide them to a deeper understanding of math concepts. I use different teaching methods to help students discover what their own learning style is. I also teach students valuable study skills that can help them thrive in math courses and academically in general. During tutoring sessions, I ensure students understand the concepts they are struggling with. I guide them through the solution process while also clearing any misconceptions they may have. This improves their confidence as a math learner and improves their academic performance. I have a genuine interest in students' education. It is extremely rewarding for me to see the learning process taking place before my eyes, of when a math concept doesn’t make sense to a student, to when they get to master it.

    About Michele U.

Hello! My name is Michele. I graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and I have been teaching math for the past 10 years. I started as a math tutor at Miami Dade College in 2011, helping students with additional assistance in remedial math course and college math courses. A few months later, I became an Adjunct Math Instructor at the same college. While working there, I realized how much I enjoy helping students to learn, how much I love sharing my knowledge of math, and how much I am able to positively impact a student academically, so I decided to become a schoolteacher. I completed the MINT 2.0 state-approved teacher preparation program for non-education majors with Miami Dade County Public Schools and became a Certified Math teacher for grades 6-12. I’ve had amazing experiences teaching math courses to middle school and high school students. Being a classroom teacher has been an extremely rewarding experience. This year, I made the decision to take a break from the school system to provide individualized math help to students. And I love it! My philosophy is that ALL students CAN learn. My goal as a tutor is to help my students meet their maximum learning potential.
