English (ESL) with Maya M.

I teach different levels (beginner to advanced). In my teaching I always try to place the student at the center: i.e., I want you to do most of the talking, because that is how you will learn the most. The entire class will take place in English, so you will have the opportunity to be completely immersed in English during our time together. I think one of the best ways to improve in a new language is by practice, practice and more practice. I like to use soft corrections in my classes as a way to help you improve, but I don't want you to feel you have to be perfect, as mistakes are a necessary part of the learning process. We will use a variety of materials to keep the classes interesting and productive (videos, audio, articles, textbooks, exercises and lots of discussion!).
