Improve your Algebra Grade: Friendly Teacher with 25+ Years Experience
Are you ready to improve your grade in Algebra? I'd love to help you understand the math course you're taking and have fun with it. No matter what the course is called – Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 - if you need assistance to understand the way it is presented in the book, I’ll help you comprehend every lesson. We can even try an alternate method until the light bulb comes on. Because once you understand a concept, you can return to the required method. My only goal is for you to succeed! Concepts in Algebra: Measurements – time, length, weight, volume, area Place Value Addition Subtraction Multiplication Division Order of Operations Decimals Fractions Equations Inequalities Properties – Commutative, Associative, Distributive, Identity Simplifying - Distributive, FOIL Exponents Polynomials Negatives Substitution Method Angles Graphs & Graphing Slope of a Line Factoring Square Roots and Radicals Probability & Statistics Pre-Algebra Geometry Word problems I’m also a devotee of grammar and proofreading skills. I have been hired be several published authors to proofread their novels prior to publications. So if you need assistance with improving your Writing Skills, I am available for this as well – two tutors for the “price” of one.
About Mary Lou H.

I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Education/Mathematics. I am a "real" math teacher. I have taught math to elementary students, algebra and geometry in junior high and high school, and all levels for college students. For example, my first student had dropped out of high school and had the opportunity to earn a diploma rather than a GED. She only needed her math credit. I was so proud to share my graduation gown from my closet with her and provide her with an authentic graduation picture when we finished. I have also helped a grandmother earn her GED, a mother earn her MBA, several young men prepare for the ASVABs (military entry test) and many students navigate through math, pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry courses on their way to high school graduation. I would love for you to be my next success story!

Mary Lou has been tutoring my daughter (11th Grade) in a College Algebra Course through the University of Texas, and it has been amazing. The online format works well, and Mary Lou reviews the week's coursework with her to check for understanding. As a result, her confidence has soared, and she has only had a few lessons.

I’m an adult learner and was a touch intimidated to take my first class but Mary Lou immediately made me feel comfortable. She is warm, funny and personable which made her classes fly by. I was pleasantly surprised in how quickly my typing started improving thanks to a great instructor.
