I am a Registered Nurse with 39 total years of nursing experience. I am certified in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing and was previously certified in General Practice and Holistic Nursing. I am a proud BSN graduate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and a proud alumnae from George Mason University with my MSN. I also completed some post-graduate work in Thanatology from Hood College. I have 12 + years teaching experience at the community college and university level - didactic and clinical in psych and medical-surgical nursing. And I am currently working full-time as a Behavioral Health Care Facilitator. I have also worked as a Lead RN in Behavioral Health and as a Nurse Manager and Consultant in MD, FL and NE. I enjoy gaining an in-depth understanding of topics related to mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. I accomplish this by being mindful and carefully consider how others around me are feeling. I am astutely aware of my surroundings and attentive to the people in my presence and in my care. I understand things at a deeper level than most and have a skill of seeing beyond the obvious. I am a refined communicator who knows how to communicate with just the right touch. I have a tactful, complex, rational style or way of thinking and I practice the language of listening AND thinking before speaking. I guide MINDFUL HUMAN CONNECTIONS and help move people from where they are to where they want to be in this thing we call life!
