Hi, there! My name is Maria and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching since 2004 and have loved helping my students reaching their language goals in Spanish or French. I went to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and earned a degree in Spanish and French. In Mexico I had been teaching French for six years. Since Spanish is my native language, I feel especially competent in this language. However, my 15 years of experience working for a French company as an executive assistant to the only-French-speaking directors, as well as my living in France, definitely qualifies me for a solid command of French too. I'm a patient and caring person and my teaching style is student-oriented. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!+ Read More

I am a complete beginner and Maria was very adaptive. She walked me through the basics and kept the class engaging. I had a lot of fun in the first class and felt motivated to continue my study. Mucha gracias, Maria!
Maria has a very welcoming and effective approach. She is very organized and knowledgeable as well as responsive. An excellent teacher.
Maria is great--patient and fun, and she adapted to my particular goals and pace. Merci Maria!
Maria is really tailoring the sessions for my need to get conversational for our move to Costa Rica. She is very kind and patient.
My first lesson was great, and looking forward to learning more.
I am incredibly pleased with our lessons with Maria. My 12 year old daughter is learning so much and is having so much fun. Maria has fun and interesting lesson plans; sometimes games, sometimes cultural learning, and always lots of conversation. She speaks slowly and clearly so that my daughter can easily understand her. She challenges my daughter too. She is very kind and respectful and really enjoys teaching. My daughter is ALWAYS smiling during and after her lesson. Maria is very positive and gives lots of encouragement and compliments during the lesson. My daughter has NEVER been more motivated to learn Spanish. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Maria for teaching Rena and being her friend.+ Read More

I love Maria! She is an excellent teacher, very thorough, patient, kind, flexible with the schedule and makes learning Spanish so much fun!
Maria is a great teacher. I really enjoyed our lesson and have already recommended her to a friend.
I have been working with Maria now for several weeks, and I cannot be happier! She is so patient and very creative with her lessons. At the start, I informed her of my learning goals and she has gone the extra mile to ensure I reach them. If you're looking for a great, patient, and creative instructor I highly recommend hiring Maria.+ Read More
I have only had one lesson so far but the experience was very pleasant. She quickly identified my level and took the time to understand my learning goals. I look forward to continuing with Maria!
Maria est excellent!! Merci!
Very responsible, friendly and professional lady. Her teaching skills are fantastic! I’ll continue with her and recommend her for others. I gave her five stars 3 times.
Our first lesson with Maria went very, very well. My 12 year old daughter really liked the lesson, enjoyed Maria's conversation and said the time flew by! I am very thankful to have found Maria. After the lesson, my daughter told me, "Mom, I just can't stop smiling"! Her weekly Spanish lesson was not always something she looked forward to with her previous teacher but now she's completely motivated again! This change is a very positive one! Maria is very kind, very smiley, encouraging and gave a lot of positive feedback throughout. She spoke at a speed applicable to daughter's level of comprehension. She took the time beforehand to ask me about my daughter's interests and my expectations for the class. I believe Maria has customized her lesson to really grab my daughter's attention and promote a positive learning environment. Thank you, thank you Maria!!!! This is the beginning of something very, very good!+ Read More
I have known Maria for a pretty long time, when she was a student of Spanish and French at the university. This was about four years ago. I knew nothing about Spanish. It was she, who started to ignite the sparkle of interest in Spanish, which I thought nobody would be able to ever do so. It was Maria's enthusiasm, her ability to patiently explain the differences of "estar" and "ser", always with a smile and despite my many, many mistakes. If you want to learn Spanish from a competent and kind instructor, choose her. You will be in good hands and learn a lot.+ Read More
It is my first time with a tutor and also my first time to experience an online class. I must admit that I was a bit scared and would not be able to accomplish anything but stuttering around. It was amazing, how Maria, as my French tutor introduced herself, made me feel comfortable not only to face a tutor, but also to help me overcome my "technological" fears. Maria is a kind, very patient and caring tutor. It was fun the way she explained and practiced some of the pronunciation rules and introduced and practiced my first French words. Two of them I would like to apply right now. Merci, Maria. Au revoir.+ Read More
