Spanish with Lorella D.

Hi, my name is Lorella and I have experience in language pedagogy and applied linguistics dating back to my undergraduate and graduate’s studies, and have thus completed the requirements for the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching Certificate. Specifically, my second M.A. thesis grappled with the challenges involved in teaching Spanish to Italian natives. While I was a Teaching Assistant, my course evaluations were among the highest and I have recently won the Outstanding Teaching Award offered by my department. For years, I have been giving courses in Spanish and Italian language and culture, from elementary to advanced level, including Spanish for Heritage Learners. I am proudly part of that category of teachers who do not consider teaching as a mere job. I want my students to be as happy to attend my classes as I am to teach them; I want classes to be a time students look forward to. When I was a foreign language student, I enjoyed the energy and humor my favorite teacher put into every class. Therefore, I cultivated my own cheerful attitude to give my students the best learning experience possible.
