Interesting, Fun, and Never Boring. 30 Years Teaching Experience in the U.S. and Internationally.
Note: Lesson times and days often available by request. Hello. My name is Linda, and I am an ESL/English teacher for Take Lessons. If you are reading my profile, I'm going to convince you to sign up for lessons with me. So why sign up with me? First of all, teaching ESL and English is not a job for me. It's a passion. I love doing it. My love of languages started when I was a child. My grandparents escaped from Russia during the Russian Revolution. My father's first language was Russian, and I remember many family dinners when the only language I heard was Russian. My grandparents tried to teach me Russian and told me about the country they had escaped from. This resulted in my curiosity and interest in other countries and other languages. Unfortunately, I didn't spend enough time with my grandparents to learn Russian, and my father wanted me to learn only English, so when I got older, I learned French in school, and I also learned Turkish when I lived in Turkey and taught English as a Foreign Language. I have lots of experience --almost 30 years, all levels, all skills, and all ages. I also have a MA degree in English with an emphasis in ESL, an English as a Foreign Language Certificate, and a BA degree in French, so I know what it's like to learn a foreign language. It can be difficult, especially the older you get, but certainly possible with a good teacher. In addition to a lot of experience and a lot of training, I relate well with my students who come from all over the world. The reason: I have lots of overseas experience. I lived in Pakistan when I was a child, and I studied French in college in Paris, France. I also lived in Turkey and Oman where I taught both English and French. The experience that I received overseas cannot be read from a book, or researched on the Internet. It's experience that you can only get first hand by living in the culture and experiencing it every day. It's an experience that I will cherish forever, and it has helped make me the teacher that I am today. Are there other reasons to sign up with me? Of course there are. About Linda C.

Now, I am going to tell you a story which I hope will help you decide to sign up with me. Years ago, when I was studying for my MA degree in English with an emphasis in ESL, I had a very, very boring professor in one of my evening classes. This professor sat in front of the class and talked and talked for three hours. He was so boring that many of the students fell asleep in class, myself included. I spent all of my energy trying to stay awake and learn as much as possible in the class, but it was difficult because the class was so boring, It was at that time that I decided that I would never teach like this professor, that I would never be so boring, and if I ever became that boring, it would be time to quit teaching. However, it's not time to quit teaching yet. Not time at all. My students still love me, and I still love teaching. I promise you that if you sign up with me, you will not only learn and improve your English, you will have a good time learning, and your classes will be fun, interesting and never boring. So if you want someone who has a lot of education and experience, who makes your classes as interesting as possible, who knows what it's like to learn a foreign language, and who has lived in four foreign countries, then I am the teacher for you. If you have any further questions, click on the "Ask a Question" link in my profile, and I will answer your questions shortly. Due to Covid-19, I am only offering online lessons for the safety of my students and myself I look forward to meeting you online soon.

Linda is an excellent instructor. She is not only knowledgeable, but she has the patient in helping me solve any questions. In our first lesson, Linda took the time to figure out my concerns about English and determine the best learning plan for me to reach my goals. Her class is fun and very interesting, and most importantly, it works! I highly recommend her if you want to improve your English.
