English (ESL) with Lacie F.

My name is Lacie F., and I have taught Secondary English (7th-12th) for 8 years. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education in 2012. I was the vice president of the National English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta until my graduation. I wrote an original piece of fiction and presented my writing at the Sigma Tau Delta National Convention and functioned as the coordinating chair for creative fiction section. After graduation, I obtained my Texas teaching certificate for secondary English and ESL. I began teaching secondary English at a public school in my home state of Texas. I have taught beginning, intermediate, and advanced ESL to ages 6- adult. I have tutored students in English, ACT prep, college preparation, Composition I & II (collegiate level), technical writing and research, intensive reading, preparation for the Texas STAAR student exams, and also primary level reading, speaking, writing (1st grade level). I absolutely love to read and write. I love tutoring because I can focus on an individual student's achievement and 'lightbulb' moment; seeing them grasp a new concept! I have taught intensive reading and writing classes for 7-12th grade. I have also taught American and British Literature for 6 years. I have helped students prep for ACT English, reading, and writing. I also prepped students for the Texas TSI exams. As a secondary English teacher, I am extremely proficient with all types of reading, writing, grammar, linguistics, and literature. I'm excited to see you learn!
