    Hi! My name is Kyla and I am currently a working actress and substitute teacher. I am on a webseries that just won a pilot competition, I just wrapped a play and start rehearsals for another one in June, and I have done a number of other live shows, short films, and webseries. I have taught theater, I substitute teach, currently, and I have babysat and tutored. I am also an alumni of the University of Southern California (BA) - one of the top universities in the US with one of the best theater (and film) schools! I love teaching, especially the arts, and I love to help someone understand something better and to feel more confidently about a subject or skill. I am excited to meet you all and get started!     The teacher was able to discern my exact needs, and then focus on those, and create in-the-moment scenes to energize my abilities as well as stimulate my own ideas in the directions necessary for my development.

    Although Kyla is very nice and I could see her being a good acting teacher there were a-lot of issues. Late almost every-time and often seemed frazzled or caught off guard for my lesson. She was helpful with her acting technics for the first couple of lessons once we got into it, but then I took a week off for a vacation. She bumped the prices double the cost and did not inform me as a student. When I came back and was ready to purchase my next set, that we had already discussed a date and time, I noticed the price increase and questioned her. It was difficult for me to understand why she did not inform her current students of a price increase (and a big one at that). I was very clear with her in pervious lessons where I stood financially and that this was an investment already. Although she isn't an "expensive" teacher being a college student made this transition difficult. I was able to look past some of the other issues but the miscommunication between students was a NO WAY for me. Unfortunately, although she has potential as a good teacher she did not handle my lessons professionally.

    Kyla was awesome. She helped me prepare for a role I had in a play. She taught each lesson with care and was always prepared. She researched my character before the lesson to understand ways to help me. She helped me decode each scene for maximum effect. Kyla was committed to helping me with my role and for that I am grateful. I received many accolades after the show. Her encouraging words, bright, positive, energetic attitude and great advice helped me tremendously.
