A seasoned teacher who has over 10 years of in-person teaching experience, teaching children ranging from infants to pre-k. I have my B.S. in Child Development and Family Studies and I am also a TESOL certified teacher. My English lessons are simple and filled with creative hands-on activities tailored for young learners. Classes are themed each week as it makes learning more fun and meaningful to them. I create colorful picture flashcards for my lessons and send a printable version to students to captivate and stimulate their learning experience. Using flashcards is an effective way to introduce concepts that interest them like colors, shapes, numbers, counting, letters, body parts, toys, food, and family, as they begin to develop their English vocabulary. It is a great memorization tool that can also be utilized to practice and review the weekly vocabulary words at home. I love to incorporate props, puppets, songs, music, and movement to keep the learners engaged and to help them understand the lessons better. I strongly believe that children learn best through play so I will also incorporate interactive games and art into our lessons. Please note that the themed lessons may run longer than a week depending on the learners' level of understanding. Children will not need to know how to speak English to enroll in the class. Since this is a beginner class, I assume they speak little to no English. We will learn how to communicate with each other by pairing our words and short phrases with actions. Children will be encouraged to participate in the discussion as much as they can. If learners are too shy to speak, it's perfectly ok as long as they are able to nod their heads or give me a thumbs up to let me know that they are learning. I will teach them the words, phrases, and simple sentences to help them gain confidence in speaking English. My goal is to make learning fun and instill a lifelong love of learning! All children ages 2 to 5 are welcome to join!
