I graduated magna cum laude from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts, as well as receiving my Teaching English as a Second Language Certification. My major was Language Studies with a focus on Spanish and Teaching English as a Second Language.
During my time at university I discovered my interest in TESL after volunteering with my university's Linking Language Learners program for two years. A program where native speakers help international students improve their conversational English. Along with teaching over the years, I also volunteer tutored at the Greenville Literacy Association - an ESL program - beginning the fall of 2015 through the Fall of 2018.
The main focuses of my teaching has been on English, ESL, and Spanish. I hope to help people improve their English skills and help grow their confidence in speaking a foreign language. All my lessons are tailored to fit each student - this includes personalized notes and worksheets.
Throughout the years I have worked as a grammar, ESL, Spanish, and essay writing tutor - as well as assisting students in preparation for standardized English testing. Lessons have varied from short studying sessions to months long structured lessons.
My TESL certification was interwoven into my linguistic and Spanish studies.
