With English, I feel that I carry a very unique approach. I look at English as another language to learn, even though it is my first language. Therefore I can easy pick apart the mechanics of the language, but I also carry background knowledge in literature and critical theory of that literature. I am an English major in college, and I like to give my students the choice of how they want to approach the learning of literature. My specialty is making novels more appealing and breaking those novels into sections that are easier for students to understand. I grade papers daily, and am willing to peer-edit and work to enhance your writing abilities. Finally, I am well versed in the techniques necessary to ensure reading comprehension and progression of the reading level. With my dual-knowledge in Spanish and English, I am also able to work well with ESL students.

Hello all! My name is Kierstan and I am a college student studying to be an English teacher for middle and high school. I have been teaching since I was a sophomore in high school through an honorary program, and I still love what I do to this day! I enjoy anything outdoors, country music, and a nice cup of coffee. I am friendly and highly responsive to my students. Teaching is not just my day job, it is my passion!
