My name is Jon Harmon, and I have enjoyed tutoring since 2003, beginning in a tutorial center, then independently. From 2nd grade math to college linguistics, I've helped many a stumped student. I have a BA from CSUSB with honors, and have spent 17 years working in education, ranging from museum galleries to outdoor science and history, most recently as a director of programs that reached over 70,000 students annually.
I love teaching myself new things, but find greater joy in empowering others to learn what they never thought possible. I find students do best when a subject is translated into their terms, and therefore strive to learn about my students as I teach, making learning fun as we go!
I love the outdoors, playing with my dog, and indulging my creative side by keeping several freshwater aquariums and tending my humble bonsai collection.
