I am originally from Cuba where I received my Bachelors and Masters degree in Dance. I have been tutoring Spanish to students of all ages for the past 10 years. I first moved to Miami after leaving Cuba, then Arizona, and for the past year, NYC. Along with tutoring, I am a professional dancer for Parsons Dance. My company is constantly traveling, so teaching has become a very important part-time job for me. It is something that I am very passionate about, and something that I can do no matter where I am in the world. I cater to each of my students individually in order to make sure that everyone feels calm and confident in the progress they're making. I easily adapt to my students learning methods which reflects in a growing motivation for the Language.

One of the best teachers possible if you want to learn some real Spanish. His Spanish is beyond fluent and can help you learn anything from conversational to poetic speech.

Joan has an immense knowledge of Spanish. I have always struggled with speaking it, and even when I commited myself to learning, progress never showed.
Joan was patient with me and after some lessons, I have grown immensely. I'm able to have short conversations now! He made me excited to learn more, and I am excited to progress in my Spanish skills.

Joan is incredible!
I grew up speaking Spanish at home and as I got older I completely forgot how to properly speak it, making it difficult to communicate with some of my extended family.
With Joan’s patience, guidance and individual curriculum to fit my needs, I was able to slowly regain a connection with the Spanish language. Joan catered to what I needed to work on and now I am beginning to have lengthy conversations with some of my family. I would definitely recommend Joan as a Spanish instructor, he is very experienced and is extremely passionate!
