Proven Results. Get the best in personalized SAT prep.

Looking for the best in personalized SAT prep? I train students in a series of techniques proven to increase test scores. How do I know it works? I've been tutoring professionally for over ten years, and the results are clear. My students have recently been accepted to Columbia, Cambridge, University of Chicago, NYU, and Emory. I currently teach students at Dalton, Collegiate, Horace Mann, Chapin, Riverdale, Poly Prep, and a handful of other schools. What's my secret? I've spent twelve years perfecting the strategies it takes to think like a test-maker. But I also tune my lessons, pacing, and teaching style to the student's specific needs. Every learner is different, so in order to crack a test like the SAT, each student needs to build their own, unique approach. It's essential to quickly identify challenge areas--like stamina, speed, subject-specific content, and question analysis. I lay out a weekly plan to tackle these challenges, leading up to the test date. Acing the SAT in particular is about learning the ropes and playing the game. Broadly, I focus on three areas: STRATEGY, CONTENT, and SPEED. My aim is for sessions to be both enjoyable AND demanding. The goal is to build confidence and familiarity alongside mastery of the material.

My priority is to help you grow. And everyone learns differently. That's why all of my tutoring is 100% individualized. I teach according to your goals, your learning style, and your challenges. My students get results because their learning is tailored to their needs. I'm a professional teacher with over 10 years of experience helping students succeed at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I also regularly work with early and mid-career professionals. I teach Spanish, English, History, Math, ACT, and ISEE/SSAT. I hold a masters degree from Harvard University, a Bachelors degree in Spanish language and Political Science, and a teaching certificate from the Fulbright Scholarship program. I currently tutor students attending Horace Mann, Riverdale, Trinity, Collegiate, Chapin, Lycée Français, Dwight, Hong Kong International School, Cornell College, and the University of Cambridge. I help students of every age to ace their next exam, paper, or standardized test and build the skills to help them succeed in class and in life. Just as important, I build lasting relationships with my students based on mutual trust and respect. My students come away from tutoring sessions energized, with a sense of confidence and motivation. I believe that meetings with a tutor should be enjoyable, and they should inspire students to work smart and work hard. After studying at the University of Havana, in Cuba, I wrote peer-reviewed research, which was published in the journal "Cuba in Transition." A year later, I was awarded a Fulbright grant to teach and conduct research in Montevideo, Uruguay. There, I worked with the U.S. Embassy to create a series of new language courses in public schools. If you're looking for top-tier, enjoyable, results-driven tutoring, send me a message!

With Jesse’s assistance, I received offers of admission from some of my top-choice schools. Jesse provided incredible guidance throughout the college application process and instilled in me a sense of security and organization that made the journey much smoother. Navigating the complex application process became manageable, and even enjoyable, with his help. One of the most notable aspects of his support was the significant improvement in my writing skills. Through his expert guidance and constructive feedback, I was able to refine my writing and convey my ideas effectively and efficiently. This helped me improve not only as a college applicant but also as a student in general. Jesse encouraged me to develop the most meaningful, perceptive, and captivating ideas, pushing me to go beyond the surface level, which was evident in the overall result of my writing. He fostered an atmosphere where I felt comfortable exploring more complex concepts and learning to tell my story with precision and heart.
