¡Hola, me llamo Ingrid! I'm a native Spanish speaker and a college professor with a bachelor's and a master's in Business Administration. I've taught business, Spanish, and college success courses for over six years at local community colleges. I'm also a Spanish tutor and an Academic Coach. I enjoy working with students in small groups and one-on-one to personalize their lessons and adjust to their learning styles. I teach all levels of Spanish, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing to help you improve and build confidence in your conversational skills. My teaching philosophy is to help students develop a robust understanding and mastery of the language, provide cultural exposure, help them communicate, and gain perspective on the Hispanic world. Students learn best through various teaching strategies and practice methods that introduce, develop, and enhance their listening, reading, writing, and communication skills. I apply these strategies in my active-learning, student-centered classroom environment as well as in groups and one-on-one settings. When I'm not teaching, I like spending time with the family, traveling, photography, cooking, gardening, and practicing Yoga. Learning a language can be a challenge, so let's have fun while learning! I look forward to teaching and navigating you through the Spanish language world.
