    Learn the basics of American Sign Language with engaging lessons from a soon to be ASL interpreter

    Recent college graduate, soon to be ASL interpreter, specializing in educational interpreting. Lessons are customized and catered to satisfy the needs of each student. Not only will you be learning how to communicate in a new way, but you will be supporting a community of deaf and hard of hearing people by using their native language. Lessons are created with the intention to build a strong foundation of the basics such as, ASL sentence structure, incorporation of NMM’s (non manual markers), practicing fingerspelling techniques, receptive practice, deaf culture/ customs, and one on one detailed feedback.     As a recent graduate from College of Southern Nevada, (Bachelors in Deaf Studies ASL - English Interpretation), I am eager to share the rich language and culture of the deaf and hard of hearing community. With practice and full immersion, students can expect to see their ASL skills improve after each lesson. I teach students the basic foundation needed to accurately apply and develop their ASL skills as they continue your language learning journey. Currently, I work as a sign language innterpreter with a variety of deaf/ hard of hearing students. All varying in age and levels of education. I am knowledgeable in lesson planning and accommodating work for students who have special education needs.
