I have worked as a high school English teacher for 5+ years. I graduated from Bethel University with a Bachelors in English Education, licensed in grades 6-12. I chose this subject area because I love how books offer connections to our lives which leads to conversations with those around us. I have always enjoyed reading, but reading with young adults is much more fun. They bring perspective and insight that I may not consider. Through our lessons online, I want to challenge you to see beyond the text, understanding what the characters or author might be saying. This will help you become a critical thinker and stronger analyst of literary pieces. A strength of mine is helping students improve their writing, whether that's through their voice, research, grammar, organization, or other important mechanics. I will not edit your writing or tell you what to write, but I will help you improve your overall piece through suggestions and comments. I look forward to working with you and helping you become a better reader and writer.
