My name is Godfrey. I hold a master's degree in Communication and Performing Arts from American University Washington, DC. I am currently a doctoral research scholar in Education. I teach English As A Second Language to students in Europe, China, Japan and Taiwan. My specialty in English instruction is what I call Broadcast English. This is a system of learning within which students learn Radio and TV -style English language presentation. You practice speaking like a radio/TV broadcaster. I understand the difficulty of learning a foreign language because I grew up around the world and speak different languages. - ABOUT THE LESSON - You will learn the difference between American and British English. I will teach you clear pronunciation of words in the English language and how to form sentences effectively. This is most important for learners new to the English language. More advanced learners will be challenged to write persuasively; and to passionately express complicated ideas in the English language. You will come to understand the most effective way to read and comprehend text in English while being challenged to explain the written text. My method involves giving learners a frame of reference by which to grasp the concepts they read. Since my background is in broadcast communication, I teach learners how to play with inflection in vocal delivery - and how to use dramatic modulation to create great sounding reading. Reading becomes exciting with play. Did you know that people can tell how cultivated or intelligent you are by how clearly you express yourself? You will learn how breath and pace affect your expressions. This lesson is great for beginners and intermediate English language learners.
