Hi, I’m Gene, Teacher of English. A long time ago I came to the realization that there is no such thing as teaching, only learning and helping and guiding in learning. I have, in my eclectic career been, (a partial list) a paralegal, a poet, a stand up comedian, an actor, and a truck driver. And each profession had similarities and unique skills to it. For there is no such thing as a bad skill to learn. And I have found that knowing another language is like being able to see out of two eyes, and not just one. A language is a philosophical way of looking at the world. That is why there is a phrase “a translator is always a traitor” - because there are no exact translations from one language to another. Which makes it a lot of fun to use. That is why I use my poetry writing abilities and singing to make my classes entertaining, enjoyable and a place where it is a delight to learn. So, I look forward to seeing you in class. We will both like it. Guaranteed
