    About Gabrielle P.

I believe learning should be easy. I specialize in making new, complex information simple and easy to follow. When it's easy to follow, it's easy to remember. I have been studying ways to make learning sticky for years. In the process, I have selectively chosen the best ways to make the most important parts of the SAT exam stand out, so that all you have to do as the student , is make sure you know exactly what you are responsible for learning. After that, it's just a matter of practice to increase your speed. One of my greatest interests is understanding how the brain processes information. This study of learning itself and how we learn easily is what makes the difference. When you know the tricks about how people retain information with the least amount of effort, you are guaranteed to find anything you try your hand at more successful! There is so much new technology now that supports the findings about how to make learning stick! I specialize in helping people understand how their brain works, so that they can learn quickly and easily! One of the reasons I love teaching English and Writing is because it's another feedback loop that not only enriches how easily we can learn, but it also has the potential to improve the quality of our lives once we understand how to use it! Getting good at writing makes you a much more articulate speaker. When you sound more intelligent, people respond to you differently. It also improves your ability to communicate effectively, because in this new economy, everyone has a public profile! When I’m not teaching SAT, I’m teaching the Feldenkrais Method of Awareness Through Movement, which is about facilitating kinesthetic learning. I also teach meditation, focus and coach people living with long-term grief. I spend my free time with my horse, a 17 hand Dutch Warmblood with a silky black mane and a shiny chocolate colored coat. We are a team and spend hours riding and training in the sun of Southern Oregon! I was born in Berkley, California and raised by my Swiss mother in the German speaking region of Switzerland where we lived after I was nine. When I came back to the U.S. to attend Temple University, I majored in French and German. It was not until later that I realized how much I love writing and went back to school to earn my Master’s Degree in Writing and a graduate level Teaching Certification in Teaching Writing.
