    About Erik D.

I have a PhD from the University of Chicago and have taught philosophy and religious studies classes that span all of Western history at several universities, including small liberal arts colleges, secondary campuses to state schools, and the "Ivey Leagues." I have a passion for philosophy, religious studies, and the history of philosophy. It definitely carries over into my teaching. Students can expect a high degree of personalization to my lessons, but generally can be sure to delve into heady texts with me, learn to closely read dense texts and understand complex arguments. They can also expect larger analysis and contextualization for the thinkers, texts, and ideas we come across. This allows the student additional avenues for connecting to and thus internalizing and understanding the material. Finally, students can expect to receive help and guidance in their writing assignments, honing their thesis statements, and better developing their own arguments. I'm ready to help you succeed!
